Money Matters: Here’s My Progress

Regular readers of this blog will know that, back in September 2012, I set myself the goal of making $1 Million. Since then, I have spoken frankly about the ups and downs, the disappointments along the way and have reported my successes too.

Recently, I reported that I have finally cracked how to sell ebooks on Kindle. Well, it has been a few months now and I have been very busy so I thought you might like to see how I am doing …

The blue graph shows ‘pages read’ (KENP) for which you get paid a share of the Kindle pot reserved for that purpose, and the red graph shows sales. Not at all bad eh?

Now, the Kindle reports do not show the earnings from ‘pages read’ because it is calculated on a monthly basis at the end of each month, rather than as you go. But Kindle reports do show the value of the sales (the red graph) so here is what I earned over a 90 day period, just from sales …

As you can see, over the period, I sold books in the USA, UK, German, French, Dutch and Canadian marketplaces and those sales combine to give me a total of …

288.64 USD + 48.91 GBP + 11.15 EUR + 11.18 EUR + 5.59 EUR + 5.59 EUR = 401.81 USD

As I said, the above figures do not include ‘pages read’ but my calculations show about another 132 USD will be added to the above, so my total for the 90 days will be approximately …

401.81 USD + 132 USD = 533.81 USD

When I last posted my results, I had earned 121.10 USD so, as you can see, I have now done quite a lot better. And the best part is that the income is residual so that, as I add more and more books to my portfolio, I will also be gradually building my passive income.

Of course, it is a long way to go to achieve my goal. But – hey – I AM finally on the way!
