Earlier in the year, I asked Inspiration readers to nominate their favourite blogs for our first ever annual awards. One or two people actually nominated the Inspiration Blog and that was very kind of you – so thank you for doing that. I appreciate it but of course, I cannot allow this blog into the competition.
The nominations were received during June and July and were published here and here. This was to give me plenty of time to visit the blogs and compile our list of awards. After some deliberation, I decided not to go in for a lot of different categories as I had originally thought we might. Instead, I chose just ten blogs that impressed me in one way or another.
Each of the following blogs may display the image below on their sites in recognition of having reached our shortlist.
They are all winners in my view, but I thought I would produce the following shortlist and then ask Inspiration readers to vote for their personal favourite.
So please do visit the following blogs and let me know which of them you think deserves the overall winner crown.
Here is our shortlist:
Live Bold and Bloom by Barrie Davenport
“I created Live Bold and Bloom because that’s exactly what I want to inspire you to do. I want to offer you practical information to push you out of your comfort zone. I hope to challenge you to shift your thinking so you can fear less and live more.”
The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin
“Identifying my core beliefs about happiness is one of the most difficult (and fun) continuing challenges of my happiness project. On The Happiness Project, Gretchen reports on her daily adventures in the pursuit of happiness.”
The Positivity Blog by Henrik Edberg
“The Positivity Blog is focused on positivity and opening up new possibilities for happiness and awesomeness through motivating and practical articles on how to improve your life.”
Deep Existence by Stephen Guise
“Deep Existence is a revolutionary blog that proudly claims the title of Personal Development’s Deep End. With recurring themes of deep thought and digging for the roots of critical issues, the articles here are best suited for people who want to be challenged and want to grow.”
Zen Habits by Leo Babauta
“Zen Habits is about finding simplicity in the daily chaos of our lives. It’s about clearing the clutter so we can focus on what’s important, create something amazing, find happiness.”
Psycholocrazy by Jamie Flexman
“Psycholocrazy is about my journey from working in a dead end job to hopefully living the life I have always dreamed about. Unlike a lot of so called personal development blogs and websites, I will offer my advice from the viewpoint of an opinion.”
Change Your Thoughts by Stephen Aitchison
“This blog is all about changing your thoughts to change your life. The journey is exciting, it’s sometimes frustrating, sometimes you feel like giving up on the dream, but then something happens to tell you that you are on the right path.”
The Self Improvement Blog by Irene Conlan
“The blog was created because almost everyone wants to be better, do better, achieve more. All real change comes within but many of us don’t know where to find the information or guidance we need to make the changes that bring about the improvement. And most of us don’t know how to work within.”
Unclutterer Edited by Erin Doland
“Unclutterer is the website for home and office organization. It’s not just for the helplessly disorganized who would lose their heads if they weren’t attached, and pack rats looking to put their stashes on a diet, but also for obsessive compulsive neat freaks looking to squeeze even more order into their lives.”
David Seah by David Seah
“I design and make “functional stationery”, helping people in the quest to turn their dreams into a meaningful and measurable set of steps. I provide supporting productivity tools and write about related processes here.”
To vote for your favourite blog, please use the contact form (above left) or leave a comment below. I will announce the overall winners (our top 3) in December.
My Top Recommendations
These are my recommendations for products and services I've personally used and found to be helpful. It is quite a short list as it only includes my top picks ...

Absolutely fantastic list. I have taken pain to check each of them. Thanks for sharing
They are great and helpful blogs thank you so much for sharing this list with us .
I will, Will. 🙂
Thank you.
Hi Dan
Good question. The nominations were all made by Inspiration readers and I was somewhat surprised myself to not see his site in our nominations. That said, you clearly did not vote for his site whilst the opportunity was there. Perhaps you are a new reader. If so, you might like to consider nominating his blog next year when we open the nominations once again.
Best wishes,
Will 🙂
