When I was contacted by Des Vadgama of the Get Big Fees website about the possibility of being interviewed for his site, I decided it was about time I said ‘yes’ to doing an interview about my business.
Des has kindly allowed me to use the resulting audio and so this interview is also going to be my first ever podcast.
The call is about 27 minutes in length and you can listen to it by clicking the link below. If you don’t have the time, I have also provided a quick overview below.
Listen to the Podcast Here: Will Edwards talks with Des Vadgama
Here’s a quick summary of the call:
Des: Why the fascination with information-based products?
Will: They are DIGITAL. Software, Videos, MP3s would all work equally well for my purposes. But I choose to work with information based products (ebooks) because I am fundamentally a writer.
Des: With so much information overload, what are some of the best ways of getting your message heard?
Will: Create a message that people want to pass on - viral marketing.
Des: Which marketing channels do you favour?
Will: Google - organic traffic.
Des: Many people struggle with product creation or development - what would you advise?
Will: Start by finding a specific problem that has the following characteristics:
- Solution is in demand
- People are prepared to pay for the solution
- Problem is difficult to solve
Then create a product that is genuinely solves the problem, wrap it up in the right marketing message and put it in front of the right people.
Des: Which type of niches are the most profitable?
Will: I am personally involved in:
- Life Coaching/Deepest Desire of Your Heart
- Biblical Prosperity (Bible Secret)
- PLR (less so these days)
- Making Money Online
And I tend to stick with large, well-competed-for markets. I intend to enter the weight loss market. But I have found that self improvement products based on hypnosis and other brain entrainment technologies are very popular and sell well.
Des: How do you stay focused consistently?
Will: Watching the ClickBank cheques roll in helps a lot. But I create automated systems that do the legwork for me.
- Google sends me traffic
- My free books section wins me newsletter subscribers
- My newsletter soft-sells (pre-sells) my solutions and directs people to my sales pages
- My sales pages do the selling
- My website takes payment and delivers the product
So I try to spend more of my time on figuring out how to do it better.
Des: How can listeners find out more about you?
Will: Right here at White Dove Books.
