eWriterPro is a 16 bit application that runs well under all versions of Windows prior to Windows 8. When Microsoft released Windows 7, they included a feature known as XP Mode in all versions of the operating system except Windows 7 Home Edition. If you are running any version of Windows 7 (except for Home Edition) you will be able to run eWriterPro successfully in XP Mode. If however, you are having installation problems and you are running Windows 7 Home Edition, this is most likely to be the problem. Unfortunately, unless Microsoft decide to include XP Mode in a future release of the Home Edition version of Windows 7, there is nothing we can do about it. Further development of eWriterPro has now ceased so, other than lobby Microsoft to include XP Mode in the Windows 7 Home Edition version of the operating system, there is no other course of action open to us. More on XP Mode To run XP Applications, including eWriterPro, on Windows 7, you need to enable the XP Mode feature. Here is a video from Microsoft that explains XP Mode ... XP Mode is available for Windows 7 Ultimate, Professional and Enterprise versions. You might contact Microsoft and ask them why they have not made this feature available for Home Edition. Perhaps if enough people did that, they might still release it. For those who are using other versions of Windows, the remaining help pages here have been preserved.
