The Internet Lie

Back when I first started online, I remember coming across one of those websites that promised to reveal how to become, more or less, an overnight millionaire. The website supposedly showed the results of applying the methods on offer. It included photos of the beach, the mansion and, of course, the customary Ferrari.

Since then, I seem to have run into an enormous number of such sites. Sites that promise that even your Granny can make money, easily and quickly, just by pressing a few buttons. I have bought my fair share of such rubbish over the years too. Why? Because, like so many other people, I was suckered into the myth that it was possible.

But the truth is that this kind of stuff is just a lie.

Amazingly, it is possible to make money just by pressing a few buttons and it is also true that your Granny could do it. But, in order to get to this stage. Your granny first has to understand and master some other things, such as:

  • Market Research
  • Offer Selection
  • Getting Targeted Traffic

Anyone who has mastered these things can indeed make money easily and quickly – just by pressing a few buttons. I’ll even tell you what buttons they are: they are the buttons within their autoresponder accounts – especially the ‘send’ button. If you don’t have an autoresponder account, then, quite simply, you don’t have the magic button.

So the internet lie is NOT that it is possible to:

  • Make money easily and quickly – that is indeed possible.
  • Make money by pressing a few buttons – that is possible too.
  • Get your Granny doing it – yes, even this is true!

However, the fact is that you have to learn how to do those things. You have to determine who you are going to serve and how you can do it. You have to find an answer to the question: why should people buy from YOU? That becomes the essence of your USP (unique selling proposition). You have to learn how to build a list of targeted prospects who will be interested in your offers.

And then you need some basic computer skills:

  • You need a website
  • You need an autoresponder account
  • You need a product or service that genuinely helps people
  • You need a USP

You need to master the art of copywriting (not copyrighting) and you need to also master the allied art of pre-selling. You need to become proficient at building relationships with people you have never met and probably never will. So you see, it all takes time.

The internet lie is NOT that anyone can do it!

The lie is that anyone can do it – INSTANTLY!

Having said that, I do believe that anyone can create a genuinely useful website that actually helps people and they can earn a nice healthy income in the process. Of course, that message is not at all sexy. In fact, that’s exactly why I still have 32 places left on my personal mentoring course – because I refuse to advertise it as something it is not.

My mentoring is designed to help people who want to succeed online. It contains my own insights into what works online. It is the product of my own hard-won, firsthand experience. It won’t get you a Ferrari and it won’t buy you a mansion – at least not by next week. But it will get you on the road to success if that’s what you really want.

However, to become successful, you first need to be the right kind of person.

You need to be:

  • Dedicated
  • Determined
  • Persistent
  • An Action Taker

If you can bring those qualities to the party, then I can definitely help you with the other things i.e. what to do and how to do it. If you are interested in bagging one of the remaining places, please see here.

PREDICTION: Within the next 1 year, people will laugh at the idea that they could once get personally mentored by Will Edwards for a mere $47 per month (my current special offer).

  1. Hi GSC

USP = Unique Selling Proposition – the things that sets you apart from your competition.

    Cheers,

    Will 🙂

  2. I too have been suckered into many things that promise much, But delivered little – leaving me as another at a loss to know what to do. Ending up with a computer hard disk Full of things gathering digital dust.

    Thanks for info.
