Our Free Books Section

You will remember that I recently conducted a survey of our subscribers because I wanted to get a better feel for who you are and how I can, better, serve you. After eight years of continuous effort, it is relatively easy to just keep doing the same things. But, as you know, doing the same things (causes) always leads to the same results (effects).

Thank you for taking part in the survey, if you did – I really appreciate you taking the time and making the effort to help me. We received a lot of very useful feedback and I was very heartened by what the vast majority of our subscribers had to say about the site.

In many ways, your views are the endorsement of what I have been doing over the past eight years. However, as I said, next year, I want to drive the site forward and make a big difference. So the survey was all a part of that exploration in looking for the way forward for this site. From the analysis, it became clear that what most people want me to do is continue writing the Newsletter and making more and more free books available via the site.

In order to produce more free books, I need to find a way of making the free economy work for us and, these days, with the advent of the various social mechanisms on the internet, I believe it has become possible to do so. For that reason, I have decided that in the future, we will offer our free books in return for a social mention i.e. a Tweet, Like or +1.

At the main site, we are in the process of coding the facility into the download pages and we are using the Pay with a Tweet service via our WordPress plugin. Of course, I know this move will not please everybody. But, in tests, around 70% of people said they felt that a social mention was a fair price to pay in return for an eBook and that, I feel, is sufficient justification for the change.

Essentially, as people mention our books more and more via the web’s social mechanisms, more people will be drawn to the site and that should lead to the generation of advertising revenue which, in turn, means we can invest in producing more great free content. So that’s the basic idea that we have decided to run with. It will be very interesting to see how it all pans out.

Thank you for expressing your views and thanks too for your support over the years – it really means a lot to me.

A friend initially sent me your ‘7 Keys to Success’ and ever since I was hooked to this site. It is such an inspiration to read the books, and I must say I read them all and I am never the same with the vast knowledge I derived from them. I must say the more you spread your wings the better- the world is hungry for such material.

May 2013 be the year for more and growth in every area of our lives.

    Thank you will never suffice.
