"If you can give your son or daughter only one gift,
let it be enthusiasm."
- Bruce Barton

This morning when our Post-Person greeted me with her usual cheery 'hello', I was struck by the thought that I should write to the Post Office to let them know what a good representative of the company this person is; but then I realized that I couldn't remember her name.

We have only been in our present house for a short time and although I had asked her name before, I just couldn't remember it, so I decided to just ask. She told me her name is Mandy; and when I got into the car I sat there for a moment or two thinking how can I remember that name?

'Mandy, Mandy, Mandy' I said to myself with my inner voice; and then I started thinking 'Barry Manilow' and then 'I'm Mandy - Fly Me' (which I think was 10cc). Then, finally, I made the connection between Air Mail and Mandy the Post-Person. So I know I'll never forget her name again.

Mandy is honest - over Christmas she found my wife's watch on the front drive and knocked on the door to hand it over. She is cheerful, bubbly, good-natured and up-beat. To have that attitude to life bestows her personality with a kind of irresistibility - you just get the sense that nothing could stand in the way of her achieving anything she wants.

If you could bottle that kind of enthusiasm, you could sell it for whatever you asked. You could get in the car and then just as you got to work - whatever you are doing right now - you would take a drop or two or the enthusiasm potion; and for the remainder of the day, you would be unstoppable.

So I got to thinking about whether it would be possible to develop my own Enthusiasm Potion. Here is what I would put into the mixture:

* Enthusiasm
* Confidence
* Ebullience
* Unstop-abiltiy
* Cheeriness
* Good-Humour

These things came immediately to my mind as candidate-ingredients for such a concoction - and then I had a great idea!  Why not use the NLP anchoring technique to anchor these feelings and attitudes but instead of anchoring them to a hand gesture, which would be quite usual, why not actually anchor them to a drink?

What is stopping me from getting into the enthusiastic, confident, ebullient frame of mind early in the morning and then take my normal glass of cranberry juice. If I were to do this every morning for a week, I would surely have established an NLP anchor; and I would actually have my own Enthusiasm Potion.

There you go - what a great idea. You can work on developing your own potions for various purposes. The idea has substantial mileage I think.

HURRY UP AND BE PATIENT!
by Steve Goodier

You've heard it said, "Hurry up and wait!" But learning to wait calmly is an important part of living. In this age of high-speed connections and instantaneous results, it helps to remember that the Mayflower made its historic voyage across the Atlantic Ocean at
about two miles per hour! How did those early settlers occupy their time as they were waiting to arrive?

I love the story of a passenger on Britain's Imperial Airways, a company that pioneered air travel between England and Australia in the mid-1930s. "If you have time to spare, go by air," was the popular expression of the day. Airliners were both slow and
incapable of flying long distances.

One of the very first flights took off from Croydon Airport near London and flew to northern France where it was delayed extensively due to bad weather. When it arrived in the south of France, one of the motors had failed and it was necessary to wait for another engine to be shipped by sea from England. There were further lengthy
delays along the route in Rome, Cairo, the Middle East, etc., until finally the flight had progressed as far as Singapore.

At this point a lady passenger asked the manager in Singapore if the thought the flight would arrive in Australia in the next few weeks because she was expecting a baby shortly.

"My dear lady," he replied, "you should never have commenced your trip in that condition."

She replied, "I didn't."

Next time you miss a flight, think about her predicament and "hurry up and be patient"! The sooner you're patient, the easier your life will become. When you're patient, you can relax and enjoy the ride.

There is great benefit in learning to wait calmly and creatively. Here is a "waiting checklist" to test your waiting skills:

+ Do you expect delays, or do they catch you unawares? Do you anticipate those times when you are likely to have to wait?

+ Do you calmly let your inner motor idle though others around you may be stripping their gears?

+ Do you welcome unexpected delays as a gift of time, which can be used creatively?

+ Do you use the free time to plan ahead or quietly meditate (to get in touch with your soul)?

+ Do you prepare for delays? Do you have work or entertainment handy when forced to wait?

How did you do on the exercise? Are you making the most of your waiting time? We will never escape delays, but we can use them creatively. Now is the time to hurry up and be patient!

How to Run Your Car on Water!

Well, I must admit I didn't believe it myself until I saw the evidence!

But there really is a simple, and inexpensive way of converting your car to run on water! It actually runs on hydrogen, but that hydrogen is taken from ordinary tap water - only one quart of water provides over 1800 gallons of HHO gas which can last for months and significantly increase your vehicle's fuel efficiently, improve emissions quality, and save you tons of money.

The technicians say that it works as an "on-demand" system. You press the gas pedal and you electrically create more vapor for immediate consumption - on demand. The only real difference is that you are using tap water instead of traditional gas. The breakthrough is set to revolutionize the car industry. Some industry analysts believe that by 2012, all cars will be burning hydrogen separated from ordinary water.

There were a few questions that immediately came to my mind when I heard of this ...

Firstly, does it really work? Well, I am convinced, so the answer is yes it does! The technology is apparently very simple.

Secondly, is it safe? It turns out that it is actually safer than running your car on fossil fuel.

Thirdly, what about the environmental impact? Again it sounds like a winner to me because the car produces water vapor and unburnt oxygen. So, almost unbelievably, it will be actually improving the environment, rather than harming it!

Thinking Back to Last Time ...

You remember I asked you to look at your thumb-print - well what did it say?

Do you know what mine says? It says, "Will - you need a new prescription for your glasses!" (lol).

Do you know that YOU are:

  • The only person living who has that thumb-print!

  • The only person who has ever lived who has had that thumb-print!

  • The only person who will ever live who will have that thumb-print!

AMAZING - EH?

That's it for this week. I do hope you have enjoyed the Newsletter.

With every good wish,

Will Edwards.
