To successfully transform your body, you must firstly have a burning desire to change. Here are the most common reasons why you may be constantly thwarting your attempts to lose weight:


1) YOU HAVE NOT COME UP WITH A COMPELLING ENOUGH REASON TO CHANGE

Simply stating "I want to lose weight" or "I should try and get fitter" is unlikely to ignite the intensity of desire for what is, after all, life-changing stuff.
Your desire to change must be fuelled with a mighty powerful reason for making that change. You must find the deep, underlying reason for your weight loss quest. You'll know when you've got there as just thinking about your 'reason' will make you feel excited, thrilled and elated. How about "I want to attract a new partner before Christmas" or "I want to really play hard with my kids before they're too old". Now we're getting there.

Without this reason to focus on you won't be able to sustain your motivation.


2) YOU'RE ROLLING IN EXCESS POUNDS...AND EXCUSES

If you find yourself constantly making weight loss excuses you need to understand the reason why.

"I don't have time to exercise"

"I have a sluggish metabolism, all my family are big"

The very best way to defeat excuses is to anticipate them. If you always bemoan the fact that you never have time to exercise then take a long, hard look at this issue before you launch forth on your weight loss journey. Find the available slots in your week and book them!

The human mind will only allow the body to do what it believes is possible. So if you believe that you're destined to be big then you will be. Job done. If, on the other hand, you believe that you will successfully overcome every little excuse that rears its ugly head, then you will.


3) IT'S TOO MUCH TROUBLE

If you believe that something is "too hard" or "too much trouble" then that is exactly what you will experience. You're setting yourself up for failure before you begin. Take a look at what you find most difficult about losing weight and then look for practical solutions to each individual issue. If you are really honest you will find there is a solution for each irksome issue. Don't focus on the problems, seek out the answers.

A few weeks ago a new lady client had requested a sample healthy eating plan from me. On reading through the suggestions she responded "I can whip around the supermarket shelves in next to no time - if I change my eating regime it'll take much longer to do the food shopping". When I then offered to forward a few easy meal suggestions by email the response was "I hardly ever seem to get around to checking my emails" This lady is absolutely not yet in the right place to begin her journey of transformation.

Ask yourself ..."What can I do about this ...?" "What can I do about hating exercise…not being able to resist chocolate chip cookies…grazing in front of the TV..?"

Losing weight is possible for everyone. If you create a compelling enough reason for wanting a slim body, it will be much easier to replace those excuses with workable plans of action and then you'll be more motivated to 'take the trouble' to do whatever it takes to reach your goal.
