Inspiration - Personal Development at its Best!
Friday, 21 August 2009

Feelings of disappointment and discomfort spring forth from within as
we learn that we didn't get what we had hoped to achieve or something
goes wrong in the chain of events leading to our dreams.

When our minds start reminding us that we may as well give up, that's
a sign that frustration is trying its best to confuse us. It makes us
consider the fact that something is very wrong with us and that we're
not worthy of success. This happens at one time or another to seven
out of every ten people. That's a lot of people affected by this
negative and destructive emotion that has the potential to make a
person turn away from the truth about who he or she really is!

In today's competitive world people want to achieve right now! They
can't wait a few years to develop their skills or get the appropriate
education they need, so many times they take a short-cut by not
allowing themselves to find out what they truly love doing. This
error can be costly, especially if it leads to low self-esteem and
frustration. Once we let emotions take over, frustration can affect
the mind by keeping it busy lamenting over past failures and regrets.
This actually slows down one's power to think positively and
creatively.

Frustration can also lead a person to wrong decision making and and a
loss of daily concentration which both work together for a sense of
stability and trust in oneself. If allowed to continue, it will lead
to having a false reality about who we are. From there, we begin an
emotional descent away from the direction where we would have found
our greatest success.

Everyone, not just a few were meant to succeed. You can't listen to
people when they say, "so and so is special because their voice is so
beautiful or because they are a great actor." I cringe when I hear
those statements because they lead many people to believe that if they
can't be famous for any reason, they're not important, nor can they
ever be of value to society. The truth is that success is for all and
it comes in many ways.

We're all special people and the world should recognize that fact, but
it doesn't, so we have to do it on our own. We have to see that
sometimes the world's greatest successes are silent. They aren't
screaming to look a specific person, or how great someone is, but they
involve works established from caring, compassion, and a strong
passion that comes from the heart.

We're not all meant to do the same things in life, so if you're
feeling frustrated, maybe you're trying to be someone you're not, or
you're trying to go after a dream that isn't your own. Instead of
looking to others for approval, look to your heart first and then be
brave enough to become the person you were meant to be. You'll avoid
wasted frustration and low self-esteem if you do. I promise!
