Inspiration - Personal Development at its Best!
Tuesday, 4 August 2009

Don't look now, but you may be hiding behind a secret identity,
cloaked so cleverly in imagined deceits that even you don't know about
it!

How absurd you might be thinking. But how can you know for sure that
you're not a victim of this insidious crime if you don't keep reading?
And if you believe you don't care, then think about this. Every time
you present the wrong image about yourself to anyone, you're
guaranteeing failure and frustration in your future. It can creep up
on you at any time, and when you least expect it!

Doesn't that make you want to know more? I thought so! Let's play
detective and see what we can find out about you just in case you're
not sharing the real truth about who you are.

First of all, as you begin to diagnose your personality you may find
yourself feeling guilty about telling lies. I want to assure you that
you're not always conscious that you're doing it. The insecure part
of your personality can take over when it feels belittled by the
accomplishments of others. When this happens there's no telling what
you might say. So don't feel badly if you catch yourself embellishing
your life during social engagements with friends or family, and
especially strangers.

If you start listening to yourself speaking with people who threaten
you, you might hear yourself exaggerating the truth about your job,
family, vacations or maybe your hobbies. You'll realize for certain
that you're guilty of living a false identity that at the moment has
taken control of the "real you."

However, that's not the only sign of living behind a false identity.
It gets worse. But please don't take it to heart if you find yourself
hating others for their achievements or you feel jealous when someone
has what you want that you don't have while you graciously
congratulate them with a large smile and a firm handshake. Living
under the guise of a supportive person can cause one to develop a
two-sided personality. But remember I told you not to be upset with
yourself. Instead, you can take positive action!

Instead of being discouraged, motivate yourself to change. Look at
the clues revealing your secret identity that's making you ashamed of
the "real you" and begin to live the truth of your heart. Then when
you catch yourself ready to stretch the truth about your life, switch
to having gratitude for what you have and who you are at the moment.

Are you feeling jealous about anyone? Start feeling happy for the
successes of others right now and never feel resentment. In fact go a
step farther and want more for others than you want for yourself.
That's right, and do it even for that person who always brags about
what they have. Why? This is a Biblical spiritual law that will
actually work to prosper you. I guarantee some amazing things will
happen to your life and you won't have to feel jealous ever again!

Most important, you'll begin to like yourself so much that you would
never want to be someone else, or put in other terms, you won't need
to hide behind a false or secret identity. You'll become an honest
and sincere person because you'll no longer need to exaggerate your
life and you'll always be happy for the blessings of others.

A loving attitude will open the door to your greatest purpose in life.
Honesty has a way of making everything fit into place in the best
possible way.

So at a party when you're tempted to stretch the truth about your job
or what you're doing, push aside that old false identity and bring on
the real you. I promise it won't hurt, and you'll create some
wonderful "honest" relationships.
