I could sit here and beat up on my self and be ultra critical for
forgetting where I was in my sequence but really what does it matter and what good
does it do to beat up on ourselves.

I just had a good laugh when I double checked the sequence AFTER
submitting number eight.

Which now gives me a perfect lead in to Forgiveness which is the FIRST
step in any program of growth and renewal. I believe it comes before
acknowledgment that we are helpless for I do not believe we are ever helpless. We
may have CHOSEN to be helpless and act in a way less than but it was always
our own choice.

No that statement will not endear me to AA for they instead of taking
responsibility for their actions wish to lay it on a Higher Power for their
errors and that it takes a Higher Power to redeem ourselves.

No Higher Power can redeem us and yes I do believe there is a Higher Power
but I also believe that Higher Power gave me life and breath and then said
take what I have given you and live well and prosper.

I believe as I have said that the first step is forgiveness and then
first forgiveness is to ourselves and then to all others for until we forgive
ourselves there can be no forgiveness of others.

We can not face our Higher Power much less ourselves until we have
forgiveness for ourselves.
The thing to remember is that Our Higher Power always forgives us. The
challenge is for us to find it within ourselves to be forgiving.

Be gentle with yourself for there is a long journey ahead of you and
harmony is the rule so gentle it is.

Forgiveness, thankfulness and gratitude will take us past all challenges
and to where ever we choose to to.
