The mere sight or thought of this word sends shivers up most people's spine. Fear keeps more people from living than anything I can think of. Fear of not enough money, not being good enough, not being pretty enough. The list goes on and on and on, when the truth is in most cases there is nothing to fear but the fear itself.

My son is scared to death of his land lady. She is I admit a formidable lady, older, tall, business like, stern . My son all six feet three inches , two hundred forty-five pounds of him is terrified of her when all she asks for is communication. We both have the same land lady and while I respect her tremendously I do not fear her for we are both about the same age.

Fear is an amazing thing. I have seen it paralyze grown men and women. I have also seen it motivate someone to move past the fear and do what was required. Most of the time FEAR is just smoke and mirrors and is not real. There are times fea with caution and is real and even then with thought and caution we can move past it.

One of my favorite acronyms for FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real. Many times when we move past the fear we see there was nothing to be afraid of in the first place. Now fearing to run across a Los Angeles Freeway is real but even that can be accomplished if absolutely necessary with caution and patience.

I have to admit I have fears in my life I face every day. I do everything in my power not to allow them to control me, yet I know I have them and work on them by acknowledging them. I face them do what I can to move past them and then continue to work to do away with them.

We all get older some get wiser others just get older. It is up to each of us to face our fears whatever they may be. Evaluate them, acknowledge them, work on them then find the strength to move past them.

You must realize I am writing this as much for me as I am for anyone. I never thought I would get to forty years of age much less to 65 yet here I am. No savings, no pension, a small social security which I am very grateful and appreciative of. There are days I look at the bills and wonder where it is going to come from and then I say thank you Spirit for it is not up to me to know where it will come from it is only up to me to KNOW IT WILL COME It always has and I know it always will.

I am asking you to believe and KNOW also that Spirit does and will provide. It is our job to provide the faith.
