As many of you may know from past blogs, I had the tremendous privilege of being a part of a team that spent a week at Casa Lumina in Comanesti, Romania helping to build an extension to the orphanage.
We were very humbled to be able to interact with the orphans during our time there and constantly felt that they were ministering us rather than the other way around.
Unfortunately today I have heard the very sad news of the death of one of these orphans. Noemi Tanase was at Casa Lumina for about six years after the orphange took over her care when her Grand Mother was no longer able to cope for her special needs. It appears that she died from Bronchial Pneumonia brought on by a bout of flu that is haunting Casa Lumina at present. It is possible that Noemi's chronic hepatitis may have been an added complication but this cannot be confirmed until hospital reports are forthcoming.
I would like to ask everybody to offer prayers to the community at Casa Lumina during this sorrowful time as it will have hit the orphans and their carers particularly hard. It will also be appreciated if we can remember the fantastic work that Cry in the Dark continue to do for these loving orphans as the extension nears completion.
