Becoming rich is a wish held by many people. Wishing to have the rich man's lifestyle, fancy cars, expensive houses etc. are images held in many peoples minds. But how many people have the self confidence and the desire to really go for it?

What does it take to become rich?

What is being rich?

Yes being rich is partly about having money. But what is money if we are miserable?

Money is simply a tool to having a lifestyle we really want and giving us the freedom to live our lives according to our values.

So you have money, but do you live alone?

Do you struggle to have friends and socialise?

Being rich means freedom to enjoy your time, enjoying your friends and family and waking up in the morning without the cares of the world on your shoulders, having the self confidence and belief that you can take on all the challenges that the day wants to throw at you?

Sounds great doesn't it?

So how many of you want it?

How many of you really want it?

What does it take to become rich and successful?

Obviously those good old words self confidence. Self confidence is a must to truly believe in your abilities to succeed.

What else?

Desire. A deep rooted hunger to succeed that drives you from the starting blocks to the finishing line.

Are you really hungry?

If you didn't eat for three days how strong would your desire for food be?

Is your hunger for success that strong to?

Have you the self confidence to battle through the hard times?

When I used to play football I trained hard. Harder than any of my friends.

Why?

Because I wanted success more than any of them. My father used to say "the greatest sportsmen will crawl through broken bottles and razor blades to get to the top". Broken bottles and razor blades were indelibly printed on my mind every time I trained.

So much pain has been suffered by many top class athlete to get to the top of their chosen sport. Their belief and self confidence in their abilities have driven them all the way to the top.

So then, how much do you really want to be rich?

Will you crawl through broken bottles and razor blades to get there?

Henry Ford lost all his money six times over, yet with self confidence he got his money back on each occasion. You need that self confidence and desire to drive you through the hard times and persist when other mortals will drop by the wayside.

Along with self confidence, desire and persistence you need motivation.

What are you doing this hard work for?

It is imperative to have mental images of your desires cemented in your mind. Vividly imagine that car that makes your mouth drawl, that fabulous house you want to show off to friends and family or the white sandy beaches of Barbados that you want to stretch out on.

Cut out pictures of your many desires and post them around the house. Write down all that you want to achieve and stick these in all the important places so that you read them often and build your self confidence and belief that you will

achieve them.

By now you will have appreciated that wishing to be rich and wanting to be rich are completely different things. Yes you may strike lucky and win the lottery or "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". But other than that you need self confidence, self belief, motivation, desire and persistence. Use these and we'll meet at the top.
