Inspiration - Personal Development at its Best!
Monday, 2 November 2009

As the old saying goes, are you "a picture of health?" You may have a problem answering this question, but it's important to know just where you stand on this issue. I guess we all would like to be the healthiest person we can be but it's only possible ... if you take charge and learn the principles of good health and then apply them daily. It seems like we were never worried as much about our health when we were younger. But as we get older we sure need to be even more concerned about it.

We are seeing more in the news today about health issues today than ever before. Not only that we are constantly being bombarded with prescription drug ads. Do you realize there is only one other country in the world that allows those kind of ads and that is New Zealand? If you have not already done so, it is about time for you to get real serious about your health. If you are among those who have not taken good care of yourself in the past then it is probably even wiser to start doing that now.

For those considered the "sickly ones", you may not be able to correct your present illnesses completely but you sure can start becoming more conscious about it and try to do whatever is necessary to prevent further illnesses. So how do you learn proper ways to take care of yourself today? You are not likely to find a "conventional doctor" that will help you cure your ailment unless he/she is knowledgeable about nutrition. That is one of the criteria for creating good health.

Many recognized authorities report that the conventional doctor and the drug industry cause some of the greatest health problems today. They consider their methods superior for curing your illnesses. I learned a lot about this particular issue when my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer almost five years ago. On her first visit to her oncologist I was prepared to talk to him about alternative procedures to treat her cancer. However he wanted no part of my ideas.

When I left his office I made a vow that day I would spent the rest of my life researching alternative health methods and share my findings with those who cared to listen. So ever since then that's exactly what I have done. Now I share that information in my articles I write and submit to directories. I also make that information available on my blog and on my website too.

I had a difficult time convincing my wife about how to live healthy and stay healthy but she is finally more convinced than she was before. We are both practicing a more healthy routine. She is now passed her fifth year in her cancer remission. Hopefully if she continues to practice a healthy routine her cancer will never return.

I'm appalled to admit that America is one of the unhealthiest nations on earth. If we don't get citizens properly educated about their health and get them to start taking charge it will get even worse. The other sad thing is that parents are not raising their children to eat healthy either. If we don't convince parents how serious this is in raising their kids in a healthy environment they could suffer with many illnesses in their adulthood.

As mentioned earlier it's vitally important to take charge of your own health. Don't be so anxious to take your doctors advice about your condition until you have scrutinized his decision first. Next ask lots of questions about your condition too. If you are not totally satisfied with his answers get a second opinion. Now in addition do these things also:

* Surf the net about various health issues

* Subscribe to alternative doctors newsletters

* Find articles in magazines and other publications about your illness

* Search your public library for health related books

* Finally visit my web site for many aspects of good health.

You will learn the right choices to make about your health. Once you have made the decision to take charge of you health and implement the proper health procedures you are going to be amazed how healthy you will become and how much more productive you will be. Why not go for it now.

To your good health,

Sonny Julius

    Way to healthy Life

Anyone who has ever tried to quit chewing knows that it is difficult. Doctors are saying that chewing tobacco is even more addictive than smoking. In fact, a person taking 8-10 "chews" a day receive as much nicotine in a day as to a person that smokes 30-40 cigarettes a day.

    1. Decide you are going to stop. This is the first step in breaking any habit, and overcoming any addiction, and until you make up your mind to do it, you have little chance of success.
    2. Remove the temptation. Chewing tobacco is not as easy to "bum" as are cigarettes and not having any on hand will make it easier to resist the urge.
    3. Substitute bubble gum, hard candy, or beef jerky if the desire to have something in your mouth is overwhelming. This will do absolutely nothing for the nicotine craving (the chemical dependency), but it will act as a placebo for your desire to chew.
    4. Take a day at a time. Since with most addictions, the first day is usually the hardest, it may help to substitute the nicotine in your tobacco with a nicotine patch or gum, but use this sparingly, and decrease the amount incrementally so that after a reasonable period, you will be completely free of the chemical dependency.
    5. Keep yourself busy. Starting to quit this habit when you have a lot of idle time may be difficult, since the idea of having a chew is always right there. If you are involved in something which keeps your mind occupied, there will be less time thinking about what you are missing.
    6. Give yourself a "pat on the back" for each milestone you pass. This can be defined as the first hour, day, and then week of tobacco free living.
    7. Educate yourself on the dangers and effects of tobacco and the chemicals it contains. This should help you to make a firm and lasting decision on leaving this habit behind you, since the effects of tobacco on your teeth, gums, mouth, and health can be quite devastating.

    Best regards
