Dr. Batmanghelidz, M.D., a native of Iran discovered that water alone can prevent and relieve many painful degenerative diseases.
When the Iranian Revolution broke out in 1979, Dr. Batmanghelidz was placed in the infamous Evin Prison as a political prisoner for two years and seven months.
While there, one night, Dr. B. had to treat a fellow prisoner with crippling peptic ulcer pain. He had no medications at his disposal, so he gave his fellow prisoner two glasses of water.
Within eight minutes his pain disappeared. He then instructed him to drink two glasses of water every three hours. He finally become pain free for his four remaining months in the prison.
Dr. B. successfully treated 3,000 fellow prisoners suffering from stress induced peptic ulcer with water alone. While in prison he conducted research into the medicinal effects of water in preventing and relieving many painful degenerative diseases.
Even though he was offered an earlier release from prison, Dr. B. chose to stay for an extra four months in prison to complete his research into the relationship of dehydration and bleeding peptic ulcer disease.
On his release from prison in 1982, he escaped from Iran and came to America. He continued his research at the Foundation for the Simple Medicine for the effect of chronic unintentional dehydration in the human body.
His findings were published in the Foundation's "Journal of Science in Medicine Simplified" in 1991 and 1992
Dr. Batmanghelidj wrote his first self help book "Your Body's Cries for Water" in 1992. In the book he states that a dry mouth is not a reliable indicator of dehydration.
He found that the body signals its water shortage by producing pain. Dehydration actually produces pain in many degenerative diseases including asthma, arthritis, hypertension, angina, adult-onset diabetes, lupus and multiple sclerosis. Dr. B. says of these findings, "You are not sick, you are thirsty. Don't treat thirst with medication."
Dr. B. devoted the last 20 years of his life promoting public awareness of the healing powers of water. He said he had never heard in medical school that water could cure pain.
He learned that the body does manifest dehydration in the form of pain. Now, depending on where dehydration is settled, you feel pain there. Water shortage is actually the background to most of the health problems in our society.
The pharmaceutical industry is producing so many different antihistamines as medication. Antidepressant drugs are antihistamines. And pain medications are antihistamines.
It has become a regular understanding that histamine is a water regulator in the body. Unfortunately, this information is not reaching the public through the medical community because it's not a moneymaker.
So the pharmaceutical industry and organized medicine really doesn't want to promote anything that is free or near free to the average patient. Sunlight is available at no charge and so is water.
Now you can imagine why these organizations are closed mouth about these findings. If people cure their illnesses in this manner and achieve a high state of health on their own, then this diminishes their profits and importance.
Dr. B. shares some other information about his findings on water in his book.
* Why most people are chronically dehydrated and suffer from symptoms of dehydration that are labeled "diseases"
* Which ingredients in soft drinks deplete the body's water reserves
* Why thirst is not a reliable indicator of dehydration
* Why the body produces cholesterol and how water keeps it in balance.
* Why Dr. B. believes the public is being misled about AIDS
* How lack of water causes depression
* Why some organizations want to withhold alternative health information from the public
* How dehydration causes the vascular system to constrict, leading to hypertension
* How to recognize signs that your body is starting to dehydrate
