If you really want to get sick then follow the advice of any drug commercial and it will happen. Now I don't mean to imply that you will immediately get sick, but using any drug long term it's possible you will develop some kind of additional ailment.

The pharmaceutical industry is so powerful and so creative with their ads that the average person is convinced a drug with solve their ailment. Even though the commercials will reveal some of the side effects of their drug, they don't really tell you the whole story of how dangerous and risky they really are.

Here are some of the well-known drug commercials you see on TV today and the real story of what kind of problems they can cause.

* Fosamax, Actonel and Boniva

All of these drugs are basically the same, just manufactured by different drug companies. They are bisphosphonate drugs for osteoporosis or cancer. The risk of taking these drugs is developing osteoporosis of the jaws. This is permanent damage in which the jawbone rots away.

Now there are two varieties of these drugs, one taken intravenously by cancer patients and the other taken in a lower-dose pill for osteoporosis. The risk of jaw rot is said to be highest among those taking the drug intravenously. Those using the oral drug can take three years to develop adverse affects.

What can you do to prevent osteoporosis without taking a potentially dangerous drug that can kill your jawbone? Simple answer, exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet. That sounds like a lot easier method to me, don't you think?

* Advair, Serevent and Foradil

These three drugs for asthma have been asked by the FDA to add new warnings to their labels, indicating that the drugs could increase chances of severe asthma episodes that can result in death. Advair is GlaxoSmithKline's biggest selling drug and along with their other drug, Serevent, accounts for about 15 percent of their total sales.

The company disagreed with the FDA's proposed labeling changes, arguing that they were inconsistent with established treatment guidelines. Serevent as a result of a study shows that its patients had a higher risk of life threatening asthma attacks and deaths.

Taking charge of your personal health by adhering to a proper diet, avoiding sugar, most grains, fruit juices and pasteurized dairy products will help avoid asthma. Even exercising, balancing the ratio of Omega-3 fats in your diet by taking a high quality fish oil and using Vitamin E is other ways to protect you from asthma.

* Nexium (the replacement of Prilosec)

The main patent on Prilosec expired more than a year ago. Generally when that happens it usually triggers a generic version on the market. However, through lawsuits the makers of Prilosec have managed to keep that from happening and launched a half-a-billion-dollar blitz to move people off Prilosec and onto Nexium.

The number of people who actually need this drug is less than one in 100 of those taking it. People are being prescribed drugs for heartburn when it is one of the easiest medical problems to treat.

Stomach acid is necessary to solve and prevent heartburn. So the solution is to drink adequate amounts of clean water, follow a good nutritional plan and avoid sugar, take garlic and use high quality probiotics.

It is so easy to be well and stay well if you know what kind of a plan to follow. Don't be so anxious to try every drug on the market to solve your illnesses. Drug companies have no interest in you getting well. They make money keeping you sick. Think about that seriously. Visit my websites and get the real scoop.
