Inspiration - Personal Development at its Best!

Asthma is becoming an increasing problem in the United States. The number of asthma patients has doubled from 1982 to 1998. In 2001, 20 million Americans have asthma and the condition cost the U.S. $14 billion annually.

In asthma, airways get inflammed and hyperreactive, or "twitchy". And asthma patients with mycoplasma infection had a six-fold higher number of mast cells, which are associated with allergies, than asthma patients with no infection.

According to a study by researchers at the University of Wisconsin, simply hearing words like "wheeze" can cause asthmatics to experience more severe asthma symptoms.

The study reveals specific parts of the brain involved. It shows a link between the two brain regions and the psychological processes of asthma.

Previous studies have even shown that stress adversely affects people with inflammatory diseases like asthma.

Even though exercise can trigger asthma attacks, a review of the studies on the subject shows that asthmatics benefit from exercise on the whole, as it improves their cardiopulmonary fitness.

Those asthmatics who exercised regularly showed improvement in:

* Maximum ventilation

* Maximum oxygen uptake

* Work capacity

* Maximum heart rate

There was no evidence suggesting that regular exercise worsens asthmatic symptoms. The review examined 13 studies, involving 450 total participants.

It's widely known that exercise is definitely vital to your long-term health. We all need to exercise regularly and if we don't we could be in trouble.

Exercise affects just about every area of your life and can radically improve conditions you didn't even believe it could improve. We have found that true in studies of cancer and now even in studies of asthma.

To achieve the maximum benefits exercise has to offer, it needs to provide a significant cardiovascular stress to induce biochemical changes, like increasing mitochrondia in the muscle to burn fat while one is sleeping.

In addition to exercise there are a number of simple and highly effective lifestyle modifications that should radically improve the quality of breathing for those who have asthma. Here they are:

* Increase fish or cod liver oil and reduce your intake of regular vegetable oils

* Consider using Vitamin E

* Tomatoes have high amounts of lycopene that should help asthma

* Avoid using Tylenol as that may worsen asthma.

* Write about your worries. This simple act has a profound positive benefit on improving asthma.

Here's a note about fish oil that is important to know. When choosing your fish oil it's important to know all brands is not the same.

  1. Certain brands seem to be inferior to others.
  2. Carlson's brand of fish oil is an exceptional quality and purity.
  3. The liquid form is superior to capsules.

Normally asthma is not that difficult to treat. Optimizing your diet and removing sugars, grains and all fluids but water is typically a step in the right direction for solving your asthma problem too.

As I have mentioned many times in all my writings, solving health problems is easy when you know what to do. I cannot emphasize the importance of treating all ailments and diseases any more than by using alternative and natural methods to do so.

I see no reason to use prescription drugs to solve illnesses. The side effects that come with all drugs are frightening and more dangerous than most of us realize.

Get healthy and stay healthy the natural way and you will enjoy life to the fullest. I guarantee it.

To your good health,
