As much as Obama talked about his plan to fix our healthcare system it won't happen because his ideas or not the way to fix it. Actually McCain's ideas wouldn't have fixed it either.
The only way this healthcare system will ever get fixed is by Congress passing legislation to establish educational programs to teach people how to get healthy and stay healthy. Ha! If you ever believe that will happen, I show you how to get free $1000 bills whenever you want them.
Big Pharma, the FDA, the medical profession and even Congress themselves will never let this happen. Congress and the FDA support industries that make money off sick people.
The corruption is unbelievable. Don't believe it? How about these published facts:
* Earlier this year in JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) a study detailing specific account of how Merck fraudulently concocted a major Vioxx study as a marketing campaign. Vioxx left tens of thousands of Americans dead.
* Doctors are now recommending Statin drugs for children a low as 8 years of age. The American Academy of Pediatrics is the organization that is actively pushing this idiotic idea.
* Researchers were shocked to see that Vytorin increased the rate of cancer by 61%.
* Nursing homes are poisoning our elderly. A new study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine shows that even a single dose of antipsychotic medication doubles the risk of a serious adverse event leading to hospitalization and/or death. These drugs are widely used as behavior management in nursing homes. They have had no FDA approval for this use, and are clearly very unsafe.
* Recently the FDA refused to disclose to Congress the names of Chinese drug companies in the supply chain that provided the tainted Heparin drug which killed Americans, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. The FDA is intentionally acting to cover up China's crimes against Americans.
* The U.S. Government conceded in February of this year about the first Autism-Mercury Case. It seems a healthy and normally developing 18 month old girl showed up for her well baby visit and was plummeted with 9 vaccinations all at once, two of them containing mercury preservative known as thimerosal. Her health immediately deteriorated into full-blown Autism.
* The TV program "60 Minutes" revealed in one of their shows this year that FDA ineptitude over the heart bypass drug Traceplol cost 1,000 American lives a month, killing at least 22,000 Americans while the FDA dragged it's feet.
* The FDA reform legislation passed by the House and Senate in February 2007, shows just how corrupt the politics for profit system in America has become. The idea that citizens would have no right to sue a drug company when they are injured or killed by a medication is a difficult pill to swallow.
* The Washington Post has said that FDA managers are given preference for bonuses over technical and scientific staff. This a practice that has been going on while the very same managers have been actively hiding safety data from the public when a drug is known to have an increased risk of death as a side effect.
* New research suggests that Americans will be subjected to drug injury for sometime to come, based on flaws in the way new drugs are tested and approved by the FDA. The problem is serious, with newer drugs causing twice as many drug injuries and deaths as older drugs approved for the same purposes.
* The New York Times reported back in June 2008, on the investigation by Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) into the money paid by Big Pharma to the key researchers promoting the off-label use of anti-psychotic medications.
It shows that the researchers who have been behind promoting negative off-label use of these powerful drugs to children were on the take from Big Pharma and hiding millions in "consulting fees."
This is not the America I grew up in 77 years ago. I won't say there wasn't some corruption taking place in government back then but it's got to be ten fold now and probably it will get worse.
The only good news about Big Pharma is as of 2007 drug sales, even though the total was $286.5 billion, it slowed to 3.8%.
Let's hope that in the coming years, when our citizens get tired of all the brainwashing about how drugs heal, they will wake up and learn the real way to heal is the natural way. That's how our body was originally designed. We just need to put the right stuff in it to help it do its job.
