People are subjected to prescription drugs every day and don't really know the dangers of taking them. OH! They might tell you a few of the side effects of them. But they donn't tell you the real danger associated with them.

Here are a few of those medications you might want to know about:

Tagamet

This is a popular stomach acid reducer that is advertised heavily on television. Common side effects are depression, confusion, hallucinations, impotence and heart and kidney problems. Tagament also interferes with the body's ability to break down other chemicals.

So what this means is you can get an overdose of any substance you are exposed to. This is a serious problem if you are taking other prescription medication. For example, if you are taking blood thinners or anticoagulants, normally these medications are broken down in the liver. However, if you are using Tagamet, they are not broken down and you can bleed to death.

Reglan

Another common heartburn drug whose most side effect is the onset of Parkinson's disease symptoms: trembling, stiffness, facial paralysis, and twisting movement of the body.

When it comes to taking antacids, whether it is a prescription or over-the-counter drug, it's most likely you acid indigestion is caused by lack of stomach acid and not a surplus of it.

It's really a simple process. Food that isn't digested because of the lack of stomach acid does not pass easily into small intestine. What happen is it sits in your stomach and ferments. Then the fermenting process causes undigested food to bubble and roll about, causing acid reflux.

Halcion

A sleeping acid that was passed by the FDA just as they forbade the production and sale of L. Tryptophan the natural sleep aide we experience on thanksgiving (it comes from the turkey) The side effects of this drug are agitation, hallucinations and amnesia. It's banned in England, and is one of the most prescribed drugs in America

Aspirin

Small amounts can cause bleeding of the stomach lining. Continued use can lead to peptic ulcers. Aspirin interferes with the production of hormones and it' even been linked to macular degeneration.

The FDA's approval of many drugs is shocking. The U.S. General Account Office reported that over an eight year period, 50% of the drugs approved by the FDA had serious post-approval risk such as heart failure, convulsions, kidney and liver failure, birth defects and blindness.

Dr. Herbert Ley, a former FDA commissioner said what really bothers him is people believe the FDA is protecting them but in reality they are not. They also like to make you believe that many herbs and vitamins are dangerous yet 100,000 people die yearly from "FDA approved" prescription drugs, and many more are injured.

And in addition to that statistic, add 100,000 people who die from malpractice every year and you have the third largest cause of death in America, which is the medical profession.

In today's medical environment where symptoms are treated, masked, or managed, death happens too soon. We really don't know how many people die from medical intervention. It may even be the main cause of death in this country.

Doctors try to save lives, not take them and they do their best with the tools they have been given. But they have not been given all the tools they need. For instance they get very little education in medical school about nutrition.

Those practicing natural medicine methods are frequently abused, that's the holistic, osteopathic, naturopathic and even the chiropractic doctors. Even some of their therapies might not prove to be effective, but at least they won't kill you, and you will live to try another therapy.

The conclusion to all of this can be much simpler than most people would believe. Over and over I read the best advice is to learn the advantages of nutrition. Most people seem to be deficient in some nutrients for their body.

Your will usually find that if you have an illness or have contacted a certain disease it's because your daily consumption of the proper nutrients is lacking somewhere. My best of advice is to get on a nutritional program that's been proven. I can help you with one that works wonders.

There are a number of natural remedies that can help manage headaches, such as white willow bark which is where aspirin was originally derived from.

The real question though is why these headaches are occurring, which should be viewed from a whole body perspective. For example, in Chinese medicine headaches are often related to Liver meridian imbalances. The Liver in Chinese medicine is most easily effected by chronic stress.

Liver imbalances also typically result in digestive issues. Treating the whole body is the best way to ultimately resolve chronic problems such as headaches.

Good nutrition is essential as well for maintaining health and healing.
