Is it possible to have the energy and stamina of a young child once again at any age?

Well maybe that's not totally possible. However you can still increase your energy and stamina to some degree no matter how old you are if you will just take better control of your health.

There are so many stories around of people who have unbelievable energy even in their senior years. I have a few friends that fit into that category.

One of them is Tom, who is now 94 years old. I ask him one day, "what's you secret for vitality and longevity". Well he said " I don't smoke, I don't drink alcohol any more and you knew how long  that my brothers and sisters lived.

I said, "Yeah I knew that Tom, I'm sure that's probably a pretty good assessment of how you have lived so long, but is there anything else that might contribute to your longevity?

He said, "Well I never stop moving, I'm always going somewhere or doing something."  I said, "that's it, Tom, that has to be it. That has to be the prime reason you are the age you are".

My wife has an aunt that is now 98 years of age and she has tremendous energy too. Her daughter at the age of 66 years says she has a hard time keeping up with her at times. Her mind is clear and she is always upbeat and has some project going on all the time.

I was amazed at a lady standing outside on the Today Show this morning who had a terrific story. She indicated she had not missed running in the New York Marathon for 53 years. When asked how old she was, "she said I'm 83 years old. I thought, WOW! Isn't that fantastic?

Several years back I had a good friend that was about to retire and I asked him what he was going to do after he retired and he said, "nothing, I'm just going to sit around and do nothing."

I said "you know what Jim, that might not be too smart, that could shorten your life dramatically or you could even contact a serious disease." He said, "well that's what I've decided to do." Sad story, he didn't last more than two to three years after that.

I couldn't wait until I retired myself to do some things I couldn't do while working. I could never be a "couch potato." I have to be during something all the time. Like Tom, I have to always be moving too. That's not just moving your body but also keeping your mind in motion as well.

Now of course just moving all the time is healthy but there are a few other things that need to be done too. Here are four critical steps you should do every day that could extend your life.

DIET

Adopt a health plan for yourself and your family. Add a healthy eating plan to your daily regimen. Stop eating fast food and processed food. Make sure you prepare healthy food, which includes plenty of fruits and vegetables. Even for working people it's possible to prepare meals ahead of time, by using crock pot cooking or even using timers on your stove and oven to have meals ready when you want to eat them.

EXERCISE

Daily exercise should be in some form, either outside your home or in your home. A brisk walk is always good and can even be enjoyable. Dr. Campbell Douglass (a well-respected authority on natural methods of wellness) doesn't believe in beating yourself up on a treadmill or pounding your body by running. He believes in simple exercise using small barbells is adequate.

STRESS MANAGEMENT

Managing stress is extremely important. It's said, "stress can kill." Extreme stress can trigger a stroke, a heart attack and even many other chronic diseases. There are stress management programs on CD's that are very worthwhile. The Jose Silva Ultramind Program is a great one to have.

NUTRITION

A nutritional program is an important aspect of any health regimen. Even if you are on a healthy diet food alone does not always supply you with all the vital nutrients you need. There are just some nutrients you cannot get completely from the food you eat.

A proven nutritional program will have exactly what you need to add to your diet every day

Life can be even more enriching if you will just follow these very simple guidelines. As you get older it's even more critical that you adopt some daily health practices.

Because your immune system, which defends you against illnesses and diseases, needs to be replenished regularly with good food and other nourishment to perform at the highest degree it can.

You must be the one to make that happen. You are the only one that can control what happens to your body and mind. Learn to live again and enjoy life even more because "LIFE IS GOOD!"
