Heart attacks can creep upon you suddenly and you may not even realize you were likely to have one. That's seems what happened to Tim Russet who was that incredibly admired host of the Sunday morning show Meet the Press.
Now that more details about his health has now been revealed it's not a surprise to me that it happened to him. According to the information I read about him at the age of 58 y ears he had a number of coronary heart disease factors.
He was overweight and recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. If this wasn't bad enough news he was taking medication for high blood pressure and also for high cholesterol. It wasn't mentioned in the article I read about him but I suspect his diet might not have been the healthiest either.
What is really kind of frightening is the fact that not all heart attack victims have ever experienced any warning signs in the past. They haven't even experienced chest pains, shortness of breath or any other symptoms of heart problems.
So here's some tips on how you may prevent a heart attack yourself or at least increase your odds from it ever happening to you. The first thing you need to do is decide to take total charge of your personal health practice.
You do this by adhering to a proper diet, exercising regularly, taking some recommended nutritional supplements and above all learn how to manage stress properly.
Now that is not all you need to do. Here's something you may not agree with but it is this. Don't always take the advice your doctor suggests of how to solve your unhealthy condition. Also don't be too quick to agree to take a prescription drug, having an operation or spending time in a hospital.
You should even scrutinize your doctor's comments about your health condition. And make sure you ask lots of questions before agreeing to do anything about your illness.
I'm a strong advocate of alternative methods for solving your health problems. What happens is that the traditional doctor today is treating symptoms instead of getting to the real core of your illness.
Taking prescription drugs or having an operation is not always the right answer to your problem. They sometimes cause additional problems for your body. It's been known some of them have even triggered a heart attack.
Taking cholesterol medication is not really a good thing to be taking either. Since cholesterol medication is generally a statin drug it has many undesirable side effects you should know about. Here are just a few of the many hazardous things you should be aware of when taking statin drugs.
One of the most alarming of all situations that happens is they interfere with the normal function of your immune system. That's real bad because you need a healthy immune system to defend your body against all kinds of health problems.
Statin drugs can also cause cancer for a variety of reasons and brain cells are even weakened by using statins also. It doesn't sound to me to be a smart way to remedy high cholesterol. Do you think it does?
If you are really serious about lowering your high cholesterol permanently without taking drugs here is what you need to do? You begin by applying the alternative healing methods everyday that I mentioned earlier. You also use the same methods for eventually withdrawing from taking all kinds of drugs even high blood pressure medication.
It really doesn't matter what kind of medication you are on they all create problems within your body too numerous to list here. If people don't soon learn the hazards of abusing their body and don't take personal charge of their health they could wind up with even more health problems.
They might even end up dying suddenly like Tim Russert or the thousands of other people who are not aware of the tremendous risks associated with unhealthy practice everyday.
I strongly encourage you to take that crucial step today and start managing your health. I guarantee you will be amazed how a very simple health plan everyday can help you enjoy a more fulfilling and possibly a disease-free life for as long as you live.
