One thing I often get asked is "how can I absolutely maximise the impact affirmations are having on my conscious and subconscious mind?"The VAKS Method of stating affirmations is a powerful tool for programming and integrating affirmations on many levels of your being. It does this by working with our different ways of processing information, through the Visual, Auditory, Kinaesthetic and Spiritual centres. It allows for a more complete, holistic system of personal development using affirmations, and it supercharges their effect. You can apply it for a general affirmation such as "every day I feel stronger and stronger" or a more specific goal such as "I am making $5000 dollars a month". Here are the steps to follow: 1. Get clear
Meditate, breathe deeply, or ground yourself some other way for 1 minute and drink a glass of water. 2. State your chosen affirmation out loud For example, "I am attracting more and more money into my life." 3. Repeat the affirmation for 30 seconds while performing Lazy 8's
(Part 1) First, hold your right thumb in the air and curl your fingers into your palm. Move your thumb in the air as if you are drawing the number 8 turned on its side (a lazy 8). Start with your thumb in the middle of the '8' and move up to the left and then down and around to the right. Go slow enough that your eyes can follow your hand. As you make the movement repeat the affirmation and visualize what it looks like. Maybe, in this case, your inner sees a rain of $100 notes falling all around you. 4. Repeat the affirmation for 30 seconds with acupressure on the ears There are about 400 acupressure points on your ears corresponding to virtually every major organ in your body. Close your eyes. Take your index fingers and thumbs and gently pinch the top of rim of your ears. Massage the rim working down to the earlobes and finishing there. Repeat. While you are doing this keep repeating your affirmation aloud. Really listen to the weight of the words. 5. Repeat the affirmation for 30 seconds while cross crawling Standing, bring both hands above your head and lower one hand as you bend the opposite knee to 90 degrees. Touch the knee with the hand. Straighten the leg and return the hand overhead. Repeat with the other hand and knee. This switches on the right and left hemispheres of the brain. Look downwards towards your legs as you do this. This connects your mind more to your kinaesthetic realm of bodily feelings. While you cross crawl, say your affirmation aloud and feel how good it feels to have this quality in your life. 6. Spiritual Integration Place your hand on your heart and say your goal aloud for thirty seconds. Keep your eyes closed and feel vibrations in your chest area as you do this. Learning how to stay focused can be somewhat of a hurdle, but with practice you can better your skills and improve your focus through concentration. In the end you'll be rewarded for your efforts and you'll have learned one of the most important universal job skills. Evaluate Your Current State You should first take a look at how things are going for you currently. If you're having trouble maintaining your focus, you can try to evaluate the reasons why. I've had times when I couldn't focus because my heart wasn't really in my work. I either had to get to the root of the reasons why I couldn't build up my enthusiasm for the subject, or I had to make a change. See if you can figure out what might be keeping you from staying focused. You can start by being aware of your deadline at all times. Fight the urge to procrastinate and leave things for the last minute. You certainly don't want to be rushing. You know that you may be tempted to get careless when things are rushed. Your best work will be done when you have time to give your full concentration. Eliminate Distractions One of the biggest reasons why people lose focus is distractions. You need to remove distractions from your life in order to concentrate better. Everyone is likely to be distracted by different things. I'm occasionally distracted by the urge to check my email and favorite websites. Some others might be distracted by music, TV, or movies. There are also the other kinds of distractions, the ones you don't intend on happening. Maybe a family member, child, or pet keeps pestering you while you're trying to concentrate on your work. You can remove distractions by anticipating them. You know your weaknesses, so make yourself inaccessible when it's time to work. If you can, lock yourself away so that distractions can't even find you. Improve Concentration Your next step is to improve your ability to concentrate. It's not a skill you can learn overnight, but it's certainly a skill you can learn. Start off by telling yourself that you can only think about one thing at a time. Placing all of your focus and concentration on just one thing will make it easier for you to think. Sure there are times when you'll need to juggle multiple thoughts, but when there's a job that needs to get done that should be your number one priority. Another way to improve concentration is to focus on the "here and now". It's almost another way of forcing yourself to think of only the issue at hand. When you practice keeping your mind fully present you aren't distracted by any thoughts of things that happened in the past, or might happen in the future. When all of your mind power is on that one task, you'll be fully focused. Maintaining Improvements Once you've seen some results from your efforts, you need to work on maintaining your focus. You should always be striving to better yourself. If there's a certain job that you have to do with any regularity, you can constantly tweak your performance and see if you can improve your personal efficiency. You should also make an effort to avoid burnout. When you're constantly thinking about how to stay focused, it's possible to start pushing yourself too hard without noticing it. You do want to be the best person you can be, but you also want to maintain your happiness and avoid too much stress. Inspiration is critical to staying motivated and getting ahead. If you are not really interested in what you do at work you will not stay motivated for long enough to realise your dreams. Go to take an honest look at how motivated you feel. Are you excited about your occupation? Or is it a drag? It is so easy to lose interest in what we do unless we are really excited about it. This sustains us through problems and setbacks. That makes sense, for sure. So love what you do now, or else go and find a way to do what you love! Setting Goals. Short and long-term goal setting is vital for every on of us. How can you Get Goals if you do not Set Goals? They give you a clear path to run on, and are a vital part of your personal motivation. It is difficult to be motivated when unsure about the direction you are taking in your career. So take the time to write your goals out. This will then be a business plan for your life and your future. Review it daily, read your goals out loud, and make changes when you need to so that they are always up to date. Phobias can destroy an individuals opportunities for any development as well as success. Fear by itself can be disabling and can limit a person's ability to make it through life so at times when an individual's fear can rule their life, becoming bereft of reason. A person who allows it to rule their life can be prevented from leading a normal life. The sad fact is that the person who fears is not the only one affected, but as do their family, friends, and others associated with them.
Fear is good for you because it allows a person be on their toes and be mindful what's happening around them. A person can actually compel their fear to work for them instead of against them but then again, this requires a lot of self-control and some positive thinking. Fear can be caused by something that happened previously or perhaps by a belief that they are incapable of managing with something. There are fears that have a real basis, but many are just the creations of one's imagination.
A phobia is the term used for a fear of something, but these fears can be irrational so a phobia can be ridiculous and exaggerated such as a person's fear of water. Some people who have developed phobia that are well aware that it is not based on rational thinking but, they're incapable of controlling their emotions and rise above this irrational feeling.
Some people are quick to equate phobia with insanity but it is not fair to conclude that just because a person has a phobia, it means there is something wrong with their sanity. A phobia can be very embarrassing and even more so if they cannot control it and there are many who will hide when confronted with them.
Phobias can be simple like the simple fear of being in an enclosed area, or they can be complicated, such as an airplane related phobia however a social phobia can take the form of not being able to speak in public or of being surrounded by a crowd. Most phobias are characterized by sudden panic attacks like when a person is directly confronted with their phobia and where they're forced to face it. It is normal to be afraid because it is rational to have fears but irrational fear and is already without basis, is called a phobia. It's no longer a normal fear and can have a negative impact a person's lifestyle.
A person seeking to get rid of their phobic disorder should not seek the advice of doctors who will delve into the mind to find the actual cause and such an activity can be a waste of time since finding the cause of the phobia will not destroy it. What is a lot more critical is to have determination so that fears so that your fears will no longer affect emotions. If a person can figure out how to influence their own emotions their fears will no longer control them. About the Author:

Our language presents to the external world what our inner world is like. Our thoughts are revealed through our emotions and our emotions are shown through our language. The language that we use and their impact on Energy Healing will be the focus of this article. Our ideal state is achieved through the process of Spiritual Growth. Having achieved our ideal state we can see that our true nature easily shines through. And the creator has bestowed upon us our true nature. To let our true nature shine through we need to remove the numerous filters that warp our projected inner beauty. Are these filters made of some mysterious substance? Both our thoughts and emotions give life to these filters. Both thoughts and emotions are put forth through our language. The question is, why select words as the main focus of my attention? Thoughts or emotions could have easily been the main focus. I decided that language were the easiest to observe so I decided to select them for observation. And our friends and associates can simply show us our use of Language. When someone comments on your emotions it is easy to disagree with their viewpoint. But if they said that you said "I hate everybody" or "I love everybody" that is tough to challenge. Growth is judged by the words that we use. Change your language and you can change your life. The fleeting nature of thoughts make them difficult to directly change. If you were to try to follow your thoughts you would see that they go from subject to subject to subject. It is very hard to stop them long enough to see what is going on. Your emotions are the same as your thoughts. Emotions have a tendency to just appear without warning. Usually by the time we recognize an emotional state, such as anger, we might be to far gone too be able to change what is going on. Observing language is not the same. When you speak a sentence you have the ability to immediately change it. To either reorder the words or change the words altogether. Instead of saying "You make me mad" you could say "What you are doing makes me mad". These two sentences are very different. You may wonder how this helps with changing the filters that block our true nature from coming through. Negative emotions are our main filters. Emotions such as fear, hate, jealousy, anger etc... These negative emotions are best replaced with positive emotions such as gratitude, love, patience, kindness etc... By paying attention to what we say we can substitute the positive for the negative. The more positive and uplifting our language turned into, the more positive and uplifting will our thoughts and emotions turned into. The positive will grow as the negative gets cleared away which lets our true nature shine through. |

What's your favorite color? Colors are important in feng shui but unfortunately your favorites don't come into play. According to feng shui philosophy, colors have a direct effect over the level of tranquility in your home. Feng shui is made up of five elements: metal, fire, wood, wind and earth. They each have an associated color or collection of colors that represents the energy of the element. Earth - Light colors like beige or pale yellow are associated with the earth element. Earth stands for stability. When you're grounded in a solid relationship, it's the earth element at work. The light colors in this group lighten up your spaces making you feel as though anything is doable. Fire - Associated colors in the element of fire are orange, bright yellow, pink, purple and red. Metal - If you've ever looked at metal you see how it has definite lines and shapes. In feng shui, metal brings clarity to your life. The colors gray and white represent these qualities. Water - Water regenerates the body and the spirit. It cleanses you and also stands for abundance and plenty. Black and blue represent water and their use pushes the feeling of purity and refreshment in your home. Don't be afraid to add color in your home or office. How and where you use each color is governed by the feng shui energy map of your living area. You may have never thought that red could be an energizing force in your home but according to feng shui principles, it can.
