"Love is Like a Butterfly" ...... I can't help but share these beautiful words sung by Dolly Parton with you today. This song also ended up being used for a tv programme called Butterflies with Wendy Craig about a woman chasing butterflies - looking for love. Have YOU been looking for love recently? I recalled this song whilst walking through a meadow full of butterflies recently. The walk was wonderful and the butterflies were beautifully graceful as they flew and landed and flew again, coming oh so close and landing oh so near, stopping for just enough time to be enjoyed and photographed. The many varieties reminded me of just how many varieties of love that we find in life!
Yet do we really appreciate what we see? What we feel? Are we 'present' to the gift? Ask yourself these questions and see what answers you can come up with. If you really are seeking love - in whatever form - it may just be around you in disguise, waiting until you are ready to own it!
I have found that LOVE exists in every place, every where and at all times. Sufficient love is always available to meet our needs - and all we need do is tap into it! This is pretty amazing! So many people say they don't feel loved, that their life is empty and that they fear they'll never 'find' love.. We aren't taught this at school, so how would we know other than by learning for ourselves, so it may come as a shock when I reveal that WE have all the love we need inside of us! WE must begin to love OURSELVES in order to feel the love that we want to feel from others or from life! - and it's quite a simple process too.
Simply look for the beauty inside - and outside - of YOU! If you can see the beauty of another person, what is it specifically that you can see? Define it, because if you can see it, you have it too! Does this make sense?
What is it about you that is extraordinary? You can breathe can't you? You are alive aren't you? What skills do you have? What do your closest friends and family members say about you? Do you actually listen or do you shrug it off? Do you enjoy compliments or are you embarrassed? These are all indications of how comfortable you are with YOU! And you have to spend more time with you than anyone else, so it makes sense to explore these indicators doesn't it?
When you see a beautiful butterfly and you stand in awe and wonder, how does it make you feel inside? Appreciate this feeling and store it. Know what it does to your mood and capture the setting - just like a photo - in your mind. Use this image to get that feeling back when you need to. Does the feeling also bring tears? This is an indication that you have tapped into an abundance of love, so enjoy everything about it. Tears are said to be cleansing, they are a gift and they also bring that beautiful sparkle into your eyes too!
I believe love IS like a butterfly and I will continue to explore its greatness all through my life. Will you?
