Today, it is Mothers' Day, and as usual, I spent the day with my lovely Mum.
Mum and I are close and we share a preference for open displays of love and affection.
We also share the status of being Big Kiddies, openly acknowledging that we feel younger than our birth-days tell us!
Both Mum and I have experienced challenges throughout our lives, and this has served to bring us closer, through sharing and caring.
There is great strength present when two people share their thoughts and feelings with each other, as if a third, unknown entity has joined, and helped build a tall tower. A tower of strength.
Our tower sits there whether we are together or apart and stands filled with memories, love and mutual understanding of our respective and combined purposes. We know we are fortunate - we know our fortune is special - and we know what we are supposed to do with it.
We are to share it with the world and show others that love is available for them too. That we all have it in abundance, and even through our challenges, a sharing attitude is a caring attitude and a daring attitude. We have the conviction that even in the faces of restriction, love can find a way through.
There is a relationship like ours within the capacity of everyone. Though some people aren't familiar with a kind and loving environment, it can still be found if the doors to the heart and the mind are open.
Our message to the world is, if you are on the outside looking in with longing, you have already begun to attract love.
Be always patient, loving and kind, just like a Mother's love is, and create space for it to enter.
Let there be a child's wonder and awe for the unknown and unfamiliar, and feel thankful for everything you receive. With a Mother's love and a Child's love all wrapped up together, the bond of closeness is the resulting gift.
My Mum enjoyed her special day today not because of a daughter's duty, rather a daughter's bond and gratitude for this loving life.
I enjoyed today because I get to say Thank You for all the wonderful memories, for the strength and the support that unconditional love brings.
If you are looking for a Mother's love, you might consider being a Mother or Mother figure to someone who needs you. The feelings you will experience will fill your void.
If you are a Mother looking for a child's love, you might consider being that child. Put your self in the role of your child and ask yourself what it is that you need. You will know soon enough.
I have enjoyed a thought-provoking Mothers' day, wondering what the message of today would be.
Before I close my eyes at the end of each day I write in my journal.
I say thank you for my experiences and my new memories, I list the lessons I have learned and I seek ways of using my new tools the next day. In this way, I continue to feel an abundance of love for my life and my purpose. It may serve you too, if you are seeking answers to your questions.......... Or why would you be here reading this?
I hope today has been magical for you and that you have enjoyed my Mother's Love. It's here for you all the time.
With love, patience and kindness,
Your friend,
Andrea Nicole Smart
