Affirmations are an extremely under utilized tool. Some say it works and some say it doesn't. As with anything in life, there are always those you have not experienced what they hoped.
Just hear me out for a second.
Perhaps the nay sayers just do not understand how to make affirmations work. Affirmations can be used for just about anything. But the trick to making them work is how they make you feel. You should actually feel different when or after saying an affirmation. For most, they just have inner talk that cancels out the good affirmation. Ever have this self talk? Your ego often says "that is not true" when you say "I am wealthy" or "I am lean and muscular".
Your ego likes to argue with you and disagree with you. This is when you need to control your mind and your ego. You have total control. You control your thinking and not the other way around. Now, the key is to feel the feelings of your affirmation as if they have already happened. So it you are affirming "I am rich" you need to feel rich when you say the affirmation. Play the part. Really feel it. When you do affirmations this way and repeat enough, they are pure magic.
Know this, words by themselves have no power. Just repeating words that do not invoke a change of feeling for the better are a waste of your time. Pick words and feelings that make your buzz with excitement and really feel the feelings of having, being or doing what you are affirming.
Affirmations could be just one word. Like "wealth" or "health" or "love". The key is ... does the word change your feelings in a positive way? If yes, then affirm it. I have many affirmations, one of them I use is "love" or "be love". To me, this reminds to be more loving and caring. I will repeat the affirmation until I get the desired feeling change.
Affirmations are a wonderful tool. I recommend you spend 10-15 minutes several times a day doing your affirmations and feel the feelings of having your affirmation now. The real key, as with any technique, is consistent application. Do it. Do it daily ... and believe it will make a difference.
