Inspiration - Personal Development at its Best!
Friday, 1 August 2008

People think about their job in funny ways. Some consider it just a stopping place on their way to something bigger and better. Others believe it is just a way to keep food on the table and the mortgage paid. Quite a few think of their job as total drudgery, something they hate that has to be endured for the rest of their lives.

The way you think and feel about your job reveals several attitudes you hold about you that are crafting your current career and what the Law of Attraction is sending you in response to those attitudes.

Whatever you do, your job, your weekend activities or simply cooking dinner for your family is an expression of who you are while you participate in those everyday activities. During any day of our lives we are several people, depending on what we are doing at the time.

Your job is just an expression of who you think you are while you are at work, but more than that, actually. You are also a reflection of what you have been sending out to the Universe and receiving in return.

It is important to realize that nothing about you, from your personality to your life situation, stands alone. You are what you think and feel and all your thoughts and emotions send energy out to the Universe 24/7. If you are not happy with your job or fulfilled by your responsibilities, it might be time to get a clear image of who you want to be.

Let's examine that a little.

Sit down, relax and get a clear mental image of your job and you doing it. Keep that image in your mind and see another image of who you think you are. Don't agonize over this or edit it to be something you are not. Just get a picture of who you are right now, without any influence from your job...the person you are when you are alone.

Compare the two mental images of yourself and answer some questions.

#1...Which image do you like better?

#2...What is the main feeling you get from the image you like better?

#3...What is the main feeling you get from the image you don't like so much?

#4...Which feeling do you want to surround yourself with?

Your answers to those four questions should give you a clear picture of what you could become with a few adjustments in your thinking and a clear understanding of the Law of Attraction.

It would be beneficial if you could also see how what you have been, your old self, that attracted so much personal misery into your work environment. If not, don't dwell on it. Just move on to the mental image of what you want to become and start working on it.

Now take that positive picture of yourself and put yourself mentally in your job, feeling what it would feel like to actually be that person there. Play with that scenario for a while. See what you would be like if you changed your self image. When you do this, you are starting to set the powers of The Law of Attraction in motion.

While you are doing this, make a list of the ideas and insights that pop into your mind while you are visualizing the new you. See if you can determine the real reason you chose to have the job you have. There is one, you know.

One of the biggest traps we all fall into is adopting limiting beliefs imposed on us by our parents or peers when we were growing up. If you've been told "You can't do that..." or "That's not right for you..." and you believed it, you are living the results of your limiting beliefs right now.

To prove this to yourself, answer these questions:

#1...When you got the job you have right now, did you think you could get a better job?

#2...Did you know what you wanted in the job market?

#3...Did someone else's opinion of what was right for you sway your decision?

#4...Or were you focused on how much it pays?

There's a very simple solution to removing your limiting beliefs and rebuilding both your self image and career moves. Belief is the keyword here. Start seeing yourself in a more positive manner, with the dream job or career you always wanted. When old, negative thoughts or fears surface, just say, "No" and change the thought to one of gratitude for what you do have and focus on what you are today.

Do that and the Law of Attraction will be knocking on your door, ready to give you your abundance. Just believe.
