Did you know that your beliefs about yourself are what fuels the Law of Attraction and the Universe's response to your broadcasts? The way you feel about yourself is determined by the level of your self esteem. If you have a dismal picture of yourself (low self-esteem), positive results from the Law of Attraction will be elusive or non-existent. Remember that you always get back exactly what you send out with your vibrations to the Universe.
Take a look at four very disastrous beliefs below that could be blocking your positive results from the Universe:
#1...Believing that you're not "good enough" to get what you desire
When your low self-esteem prods you into comparing yourself to others, you will find yourself lacking in some aspect, even if your judgment is totally incorrect.
That menu of traits you judge yourself against is self-destructive on a good day. Check out this list of the dreaded "enoughs."
If you believe that you're not:
• Attractive enough...Make a list of those you love and who love you
• Successful enough...List everything you're grateful for
• Generous enough...List what you've given to people who needed something (love, support, hugs, a plate of warm cookies, etc)
• Good enough...This is a tough one...check out what you are basing this negative judgment on or who you're comparing yourself to and make another list of the abundance in your life and how good it is
#2...Believing that others deserve success or wonderful lives more
than you do
This destructive belief is a reflection of your belief in a limited Universe, which is not only incorrect, but totally self-serving. When you believe that you are not as valuable as others, you give yourself permission to fail and to not achieve what you want with your life. Start believing that you are as valuable as anyone else in the Universe and that you deserve all the good you can get. Try it! You will be surprised.
#3...Believing that the Universe is just waiting to punish you
Walking around with a constant sense of guilt or fear might be because you were raised with a negative image of the Universe, God. Believing that you will be punished if you do something wrong or simply ask for something you want can be a very intense fear and lock you into an unhappy life.
To stop this jump into more unhappiness, pick one thing in your life that you are grateful for and dwell on that until you can feel it. It doesn't have to be some huge event or anything complicated at all...your next door neighbor who gives you some veggies from her garden, the bird who visits your patio every morning looking for a treat, sunrises and sunsets. You get the idea.
Once you move that first happy feeling into your reality, pick another one and do the same thing with it. Continue this until your feelings about yourself change for the better..
#4...Believing that it's too good to be true because "nothing ever goes right"
Negative expectations and a belief that you are unworthy of abundance would naturally make you suspicious of the power of the Law of Attraction. That suspicion will build ironclad resistance to the actual goodness of the Universe and prove the "truth" of your belief to you. You would be dead wrong.
Learning to love and respect yourself is a slow process. The hidden protections and justifications you've built up over your lifetime will try to keep you paralyzed in unhappiness. Again, pick something about yourself that you like and think about it every time you have a negative thought about yourself.
If you don't have anything you like yourself, pick one thing you would like to be true about you. Run that through your imagination every time you start beating yourself up over some ill-perceived belief. Visualizing a new you, one thing at a time will change your beliefs and the way you feel about yourself.
Over time, you will start to feel better and your self-esteem will rise up, erasing your resistance to the abundance all around you.
