Smiles are simple, wholesome, therapeutic and powerful! If you think I'm
kidding, stop right now and try one. Think about a joyous moment. A
hilarious joke. An intimate moment. A funny moment. Smile and watch that
smile turn into laughter, hope, and renewal. Umm, Umm good! Did smiling
not can help cheer you up? Replay it and do it again. This time take a
look in the mirror as you reminisce and smile.

Did you notice anything different? Was there a twinkling in your eyes, a
fluttering in your heart? Smiles lighten your moods and put you at ease.
They make you fascinating, charming, pretty or handsome. They make you more
approachable. Friends, family and new acquaintances respond favorably when
you smile. When you're calm, you tend to be more thoughtful, more tranquil,
less defensive, and more in control. Smiling is said to boost your body's
immune functions, cause measurable reductions in your blood pressure, aid
your longevity, and elicit a promising outlook on your future. Smiling
helps to make your most private dreams come true. It is a powerful, healing,
natural medicine.

When we smile our soul is invigorated. Our brain sends a message to the
whole body that says be at peace, relax and receive some love. And then a
great change in our bodies and minds begins. So when life starts to get in
the way, treat it with a hearty smile.

For anyone that still doesn't get it.that's still asking "Why smile?" I say,
"Commit this 'because' - this affirmation to memory."

Everyday, throughout the day, I smile because smiling:

Makes me look attractive and feel YOUNGER
Gives me a natural facelift
Improves my mood
Lowers my blood pressure
Enhances my immune system
Releases endorphins - natural morphine
De-stresses and relieves tension
Improves my emotional well-being
Releases serotonin - calms me; helps me sleep better
Improves my personality and relieves depression
Is contagious, infectious and healthful
Keeps me hopeful and filled with optimism

Go ahead and cause a chain reaction - SMILE. It "costs nothing but gives
much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None
is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it and none is so poor
that he cannot be made rich by it. Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged,
borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until
it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them
one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give."

Be a Good Samaritan. Reach out, stretch yourself, and give someone a
genuine smile today. It might just make the difference between life and
death in his or her world.
