Inspiration - Personal Development at its Best!
Tuesday, 10 March 2009

King Solomon wrote in Proverbs 23:7, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” From the infant stage, too many of you were told, “You’re no good; you’ll never amount to anything.” For some, you heard this pessimism so much that you began to believe it. When you believed it you began to act it out. Someone condemned you or perhaps someone you know to worthlessness and doom. Someone - maybe your mother, father, sister, brother or so-called friend - said you were dumb and retarded, and you accepted the sentence. You believed their lies and now you think that you are hopeless.

Let’s put the brakes on that train of thought right now. You’ve got to believe in yourself when no one else does; because, you’re what you think you are. “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Thoughts are things! And powerful things at that, when mixed with definiteness of purpose, and burning desire, [they] can be translated into riches...I know that I have the ability to achieve the object of my Definite Purpose in life; therefore, I demand of myself persistent, continuous action toward its attainment, and I here and now promise to render such action.” - Napoleon Hill

1. If you believe you can be a success, and work assiduously then a success you will become.

2. If you believe you can become a professional athlete because you have exceptional athletic ability, you’re coachable and have a good team spirit, then most likely you will become a professional athlete.

3. If you’re handicapped, disabled, jobless, unmarried, dark skinned, physically unattractive and you think you’re all washed up, then you are because your mentality is hindering your victory.

4. What you sustain in your mind tremendously affects your aspirations and attitude. Your attitude influences the level of your faith. It determines whether you can or you can’t; whether you will or you won’t.

5. If you’re encumbered with negative thinking, you are an obstacle unto yourself. Maybe it’s time you changed your perception. You are what you think you are.

There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren't the way you had hoped they would be, that's when you have to tell yourself that things will get better. There are times when people disappoint you and let you down, but those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself and all that you are capable of. There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them.

Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are, So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be, because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you. Keep believing in yourself. Believe in Yourself, Author Unknown

Think uplifting thoughts. You can acquire whatever you set your mind to attain. You can dream and realize those dreams. James Allen, author of the book, As a Man Thinketh, wrote “You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you...The will to do springs from the knowledge that we can do. All that a man achieves, and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts. As he thinks, so he is; as he continues to think, so he remains.“ Indeed, it is time to change your perception.
