Inspiration - Personal Development at its Best!
Tuesday, 2 September 2008

Did you know that without having a clear vision for how you want your
life to flow you run the risk of not living the life of your dreams at
all? And, did you know that living your dreams start with you being
clear about your intentions?

INTENTION: A determination to act in a certain way, a course of action
that one intends to follow, an aim that guides action; an objective.

SYNONYMS: intention, intent, purpose, goal, end, aim, object, objective.

These nouns refer to what one plans to do or achieve. Intention simply
signifies a course of action that one proposes to follow: For instance,
it is certainly my intention to empower young women and girls through
the National Initiative for Girls on Body Image and Self-Esteem. It is
also my intention to consistently prepare mouth-watering pasta dishes
that keep my dinner guest talking until they are lucky enough to sit at
my table again; and then again, it is most definitely my intention to
raise dynamic children...

It's up to you, darling. You get to choose your intentions and it would
be very wise to set your intentions based on the true desires of your
heart--your passions.

INTENT strongly implies deliberateness: The members of the organization
went along with or complied with the director's intent.

PURPOSE strengthens the idea of resolution or determination: My purpose
is to inspire, enhance and change the way people, especially young women
and girls view themselves.

GOAL may suggest an idealistic or long-term purpose: My goal is to save
the lives of millions of young women and girls by getting them to
recognize who they are and how to be a self-generating source of power
by tapping into their inner essence.

END suggests a long-range goal: I want to create a win/win in this area;
therefore, I must pursue every means to achieve that end.

AIM stresses the direction one's efforts take in pursuit of an end: The
aim of most students is to graduate.

OBJECT is an end that one tries to carry out: The object of chess is to
capture your opponent's king.

OBJECTIVE often implies that the end or goal can be reached: The
financial report outlines the team's objectives.

Darling, get clear about your intentions and watch your life as it
starts to expand.
