My closet, like many of my friends and clients' closets, is a
well-guarded intimate space that is full of secretive feminine power.
It's a space where I feel free to pray and have conversations with God,
to reflect and to visualize. It is a space where I conjure up my wildest
girlish and romantic fantasies. When I go into my closet, I can be me.
My husband and children are not welcomed there. It's cozy and sacred and
I hide all sorts of tangible and intangible things there. I have had large boudoirs that have included chaise lounges, exquisite
art and chilled beverages. I have also had closets that were so small I
could barely squeeze inside. But, what I know for sure is that every
closet, regardless of its size, can be neat, functional and inviting. It
can contain space enough to hang and store a fabulous basic wardrobe, or
and extensive, extravagant wardrobe, allowing you to step out with style
whenever you choose. An inviting and organized closet is the beginning
