Inspiration - Personal Development at its Best!
Monday, 2 March 2009

Welcome to the Empowered Living blog. If this is your first time to the site, that makes two of us, for this is my first article. And if you've been here before, I hope you continue coming! :-)

You may be asking yourself what it is that makes me an expert writer on Empowered Living – and it's a fair question. I am a business mentor and coach, spiritual mentor and coach, HR consultant (working with supervisors and team leaders in the main), teacher (of both traditional and non-traditional subjects), and writer. I have been for many years.

I live in Melbourne, Australia (which is the capital of the state of Victoria) and have clients at home (scattered around Australia), New Zealand, USand Britain. I shall always be grateful to the creators of Skype for empowering my life!

My first criterion is ALWAYS this: no matter what I do with my clients/student it will be for their highest good and greatest joy. No point in working with them if my main reason isn't to assist them in getting the best possible outcome. I pride myself in empowering each person so that s/he can reach his/her highest potential – which is often way higher than my client thought possible!

And there's that key word: empowerment.

What exactly does it mean?

According to my dictionary (Collins English dictionary) empower means: 1. to give or delegate power or authority to; authorize. 2. to give ability to; enable or permit.

This means I will be giving you the power, ability and permission to make your life wonderful. :-)

And hopefully, you will experience self-empowerment as a result, not only to give yourself the power to do whatever it is that your heart desires, but also to allow yourself to take the necessary action.

Believe it or not, self-empowerment is a really difficult concept for some people to accept, let alone work with. That's where I come in. I help them to get rid of their limiting beliefs, and replace them with the beliefs that will help them achieve whatever it is they want to achieve … and more.

How do I do this?

My son has said I do it by manipulating people. Hmmmm. Not a word I would have used, even though he did add "for their own good"! Yes,I challenge them with the ideas I provide. Yes, I confront them with the things they say. Yes, I cajole them into a different way of thinking. Oh yes … I am also quick to praise, slow to criticise, and capable of hand-holding when necessary. If all this makes me a manipulator, then yes, I guess I am! Ultimately, though, they are more self-confident and have raised levels of awareness, self-esteem,self-love and self-respect when we're finished – because I wish the very best for them.

I wish the very best for you, too.

It is my intention that the articles I write on this blog should elicit some response in you. Perhaps you will read something that makes you think a little differently. Maybe you'll come across an exercise which you find confronting. Hopefully, you will find tools which will help enrich your life.

Everything you think, everything you say and everything you do are the elements to everything you feel and so they all contribute to empowerment.

Everything people think of you, everything that's ever been said to you and about your, and every action taken for or against you, contributes to empowerment.

So, buckle up and get ready for the ride of a lifetime! Sometimes, the journey will be bumpy and you'll need your seat belt, but mostly we will be cruising along Life's Highway.

I can't wait!
