The Realm of Authenticity....Part I Does one convey authenticity only when verbally expressed or........... also with thought? Let's start with two words which have universal meanings in all known and ancient languages. LOVE and ANGER.....pretty commonly expressed feelings. Words carrying the energy of love are often said to be the most powerful of all, for instead of destroying, they create a bonding between people, between nations, between cultures. Words of love can build the inner sensitivity to be able to share Love with others, whenever and wherever you go. No work in creation has ever been accomplished without the deep passion of Love, for Love is Passion Made Visible. The thought of Love must be felt even deeper than the words, for without the inner passion, the words mean nothing. Easy to tell a woman/man of your "love" when only sex is intended! However telling someone you "romantically love" them to gain sexual involvement lacks authenticity. The word might make the other person feel good for a while, but the lack will out, bringing with it distrust of the "lie-speaker". Ultimately both are deceived for the "lie-speaker" has debased his/her own Integrity while depriving/denying the other person the opportunity to deal with the actual reality which might empower him/her their own growth in authenticity. Anger seldom contains itself only to thought forms, although they are quite effective. One who is angry often loudly shouts out his/her words to other listeners, or into space, if no one is around! The intent of words used during such episodes is significant. If it is merely expressions of frustration, aimed at releasing tension, spoken while alone, no harm is done. If, however, the words are meant to hurt, to condemn, to tear apart another's sense of well-being, they can also do that very effectively, whether or not others are present. Energy travels, as do words....you know that already. Even if the speaker feels guilty afterwards and wants to "take it back", it is too late. Words created in the mind and spoken with the human voice are extremely powerful and stay in the ethers of space forever. To tell someone they are no good, or will never be able to succeed, etc. etc., attempts to bolster one's own feelings of somehow being "not enough" or "inadequate" in the moment. Projecting the feeling onto others....innocent participants... can actually serve you to dis-cover the source of the anger. You could ask yourself: What does 'dumping my anger' give me which I don't already have? What is the feeling I really want? I invite you to consider this >>>>> THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "INSTANT ANGER". Anger is always, all ways and only, accumulated pressure......accumulated from where? past moments from today, last week, last year, or ????? I suspect the trigger for all anger is INDIGNATION.....as in "how dare this happen", "how come I don't know what to do now", "how dare you say that, think that, suggest that" etc. etc. and then Indignation rallies the support of "defend" which may rally the support of "verbal attack" which leads us into feelings we express as ANGER....Isn't that a more accurate sequence of feelings in your body ? Uncontrolled anger can and does lead to physical actions of flying spittle, waving of fists, or even physical attacks on the other person present. Take your anger to your inner self FIRST.... rather than later. Ask for assistance in resolving what is the source of your own inner struggle. Anger is similar to the boiling water in a tea kettle building pressure to a certain point which causes a result....the kettle whistles or turns on a signal lite.....Anger is a signal of built up pressure....the question is >>> do we pay attention to the signal or just "erupt" in the moment? What is causing the "heat"? Somewhere there is a "fire" of unsolved issues heating the situation to a "boiling point. The "fire" in your brain is clamoring to be extinguished, not extended beyond self. How you choose to 'release' it is either a conscious, or unconscious, choice of habit. Jediah K. Ahern 2007....
