Awareness, the building block of Life ~ Part II

Awareness is only a word..... until we become acquainted with more of it's many meanings. In physical terms, it refers to seeing and knowing what is in front, at the sides and at our backs. Very practical to avoid an OUCH... so we don't stumble into physical objects in our way. Mentally, it is vital to understand what is being said, or communicated, to us in our world. Spiritually, however, awareness becomes an unending field of possibilities. Think about those who are physically blind yet automatically step into their field of higher awareness as the way to move around the physical
world with sureness of step. I have watched blind children run around huge, banyan tree, roots in Kapiolani Park without a break in stride. They learn to feel the air around them, sense the movement of energy and thus "feel" where furniture is, a doorway, other people, moving vehicles, etc. etc. etc..Notice they 'feel' the innate objects as well as those which emit sounds.  Energy movement in the air around them is exactly what they are sensing. Have you ever tried a blindfold walk? Try it.... with someone to accompany you... in an unknown area.....not in your own home...(there your own visual memories would aid you). Go into the unknown, move slowly and feel the currents of energy surrounding you. Let those same currents of energy guide you. You will be amazed at your own acuity of senses.

Why? Because the energy flow around physical objects has a different feel to it than air which is unobstructed. When air is freely moving, the presence of other humans or animals permeates the air and moves it differently, bringing with it a sense of the life form/it's vibrations. Vehicular traffic produces an even stronger surge and rate of speed nearby. Think for a moment. You have felt it when you have NOT seen it.  I suggest you are now beginning to realize the different energy feelings you already sense. Energy is the very life force of the universe - GOD, in the form of secretive energy constantly swirling around us, IS us, and..... every thing we see and touch. I venture to say the energy secretes awareness, waiting to be dis-covered. No, I did not make a spelling error here, I did it deliberately to draw attention to the actual meaning of the word. It is easy to become a 'calloused' reader...to skim quickly over words with no thought longer given to the actual meaning of the word. I want you to dis-cover, remove the veil over, expand your own innate, inherent awareness.  An aware human being is able to sense energy's presence in many of it's different forms. Some we have also come to ignore while the outward word holds our attention captive. As we progress in our purpose, sensing not only physical objects, we may become more aware of the presence of spirit beings. Again reflect on the times you have "felt" the attention of some one, some thing, being directed/focused upon you. Did you ever turn around because of that feeling? I have. Sometimes I have been able to actually identify the source being a physical person. Sometimes not.......and some times I 'know' I am dealing with a spirit. I have lived in homes where the spirit found ways to draw my attention to 'a presence'. Long ago in Hawaii, I decided the best choice was to acknowledge the presence and speak to it... No....I never got an answer to my message, yet by stating our conditions of acceptance of the 'presence', the noises, often loud bumping sounds in our ceiling/attic stopped. In my current Las Vegas home, the 'presence' is identified by strong perfume (and NOT any brand I wear). That was startling to notice....so subtle and yet insistent to be noticed...Yes, I know who this is. I have dis-covered the fact she died here four years ago and much of the furnished house is filled with her treasures.... and yes, I talk to her now. Why not? At this point in time I have no expectation of any answer in verbiage, yet, who can know what might be possible? This increasing awareness could become an important factor in our lives. Many of us have had unusual spiritual occurrences, perhaps the feeling of someone sitting on our bed, a puff of air on our cheek, a touch on the shoulder, etc., that we have come to accept as the presence of "some thing, some one",  This may come to be commonplace as we become more aware of  "presence" and are able to identify that presence.

In the meantime, our ability to sense in the physical world is really very important. When walking into a house, a building, or a darkened room, pause for a moment and use your senses to feel whether or not there is another person, or an animal, even an insect in that space. Have you never felt the presence of an insect before you saw or heard it?  I clearly remember a bath area in our home, totally constructed with one inch, dark green tiles. The 'tub' had sliding glass doors about 18 inches off the tiled floor. One morning, as I was about to step over the rim, into the tub, some feeling caused me to stop and pull my foot back. I looked down to see a two inch scorpion right where I had been about to set my foot.....What made me stop? I only know some sense 'spoke' to me.Think.... We all have that sense, often called the "sixth sense".....Humor it, encourage it and you will increase your awareness of it's function. The feeling of emptiness in a space, for example, is well known to your body; that is it's innate awareness. The uncomfortable feeling of an unknown in a space is also an awareness, sometimes ignored, giving us a signal of a presence sharing the same space.

As we progress in this kind of sensing, it will bring a stronger signaling system into play when walking along an unfamiliar, or dark street. As with anything you learn, practice makes "perfect", actually strengthens that acuity to sense energy around you in any situation. Practice, practice, practice.....if you want to enhance your own sensing ability and the more you trust it, the more you will become aware of it's signals to you. The skin is an extremely important part of our bodies that also has very minute sensing organs on it's surface. When dealing with energy movement, these same sensors pick up movement and send it to the brain where it is processed into a recognizable signal. The more we train ourselves to listen as our brain interprets these signals.... and listen to their message.... the more our awareness will expand. LOL (laugh out loud) , sometimes after the fact..... and you may say "oh, I should have paid attention to that feeling".... Well, there is always, all ways, a "next time" and perhaps another opportunity to access our oft ignored talents.
