Hello and thank you for joining me. It is with great pleasure that I am writing this Alternative Health blog and I hope that I will answer your questions over the forthcoming weeks.My name is Wendy Friston and I am a Personal Trainer and Vitality Consultant, based in the UK. I have a holistic approach to Health and Fitness because I believe that the mind and body should be trained as one. I have been interested in Alternative Health for many years, and trained as a Reiki and Qi Gong Healer, a Colour Breathing Practitioner and a Laughter Leader a few years ago. Modern lifestyles can play havoc with our bodies. People are becoming more obese and the World's Health is in crisis. Just think . how often do you use the car or a bus when you could walk to your destination? Do you often grab fast food because you are too tired or too busy to cook properly? Have you gained a few inches on your waistline over recent years? Are you less flexible than you used to be? As you are getting older, is your health starting to suffer? And most importantly have you been blaming everything on the ageing process or turning to the nearest Pharmacy for advice? It is very easy to turn to conventional medicine for answers these days, but sometimes the best answers have been around for many centuries. By looking at the wisdom and experience of our Elders and those before them, we can often find ancient solutions to very modern problems. Our own Health and Fitness should be nurtured, as it is the one thing that keeps us going from cradle to grave. If there is a natural way to regain the balance we need in our often overcrowded lives, then surely we should be going out there to grab it with both hands! Alternative Health isn't about Hocus Pocus . It is about looking after our bodies in the way Mother Nature intended and making this fit in easily with our daily lives. Cars, computers, modern homes, fast food restaurants and TV dinners are among the many inventions of recent times - we weren't born to live our lives through the media, glued to the television or to spend our time in sedentary occupations . Now is the time to get our bodies back and start to enjoy living a naturally healthy lifestyle again .
