Practice makes perfect. Now this is one of those old time aphorisms often quoted yet greatly unappreciated in my humble opinion, because we've all heard it said before but I doubt many realize how simple and true this really is. Practice which is something done regularly or habitually, the repeated action of something so as to gain a skill will if done often enough and in the right way lead to perfection in that subject, art or skill. Perfect which means faultless, correct, having all the essential elements will be achieved if you practice often and accurately. Whichever way you look it if you repeatedly do something over and over again you're forming the habit that's the basic principle that we're working from here and whether that habit is positive or negative doesn't matter you will become at the very least good at what it is that your doing. So then the question becomes if all it takes to become successful in any given field is to practice your chosen art regularly and properly or to put it another way form the habit then why do so few achieve success. Well I would hazard a guess that most people don't want success as much as they say they do as it requires far too much hard work for the average person and it involves great sacrifice, the kind of sacrifice which most people are clearly not prepared to make and why should they when it's so easy to get by in this most affluent of times that we find ourselves currently living in. So back to this practice makes perfect business. You should realize that you had to practice and practice certain everyday skills as a child which you now take for granted in order for you to go about your daily business such as walking, talking, reading and writing, have you ever sat and watched a baby as they learn to walk for the first time, it is a perfect study in how the human spirit when undaunted will achieve anything given enough time and space to master that craft. To watch as a child tries to raise themselves up only to fall down again but with a determined attitude struggles to rise up again and again until they can stand by themselves without aid or assistance, is nothing short of a miracle, then to observe as they then set about the task of walking is pure joy, but what it shows to anyone who cares to look beyond the obvious enjoyment of watching a child learn is the fact that it took endless hours of practice before progress was made and it took sheer persistence, determination and willpower to ensure success, which is nothing short of the right attitude coupled with action, determined, resolute, action. Remember this fact well because it is a lesson to us all, for in the attitude of a child which at some point or another we have all possessed is the key to success or failure and all you need to do is to see the world through the eyes of a child to realize how anything within the realms of time and space can be achieved if you only desire it greatly enough and keep in moving towards the achievement of your goal then without a shadow of a doubt you will achieve that goal, so to use another often spoken saying of old "be careful what you wish for or you just might get it".
