Staying Motivated

We all have dreams and secret desires, but too often we lack the motivation that is needed to see them being achieved.

Regardless of how long you have been in business you will find that being motivated is something of a challenge to keep going. How many times have you quit because the idea or dream wasn't working. You wait for the day to come when you finally have the break though for your dream to be realized but nothing is happening. How do you keep plodding on when nothing seems to be working?

Now the biggest problem we face is to remain focused, we try one thing, and quit or move onto the next idea, or the next rather than seeing a project through to completion. It soon becomes a cycle and one that seems impossible to get off. How many times have you heard someone complain of failure because they didn't the answers they wanted. Look at a dieter who has failed and how depressed they become, all because they want that golden formula to keep them motivated.

People believe that one day it will happen, but in the meantime they are giving up, they sacrifice everything hoping to get that big break. Think about a young person with a dream, they have to spend years working hard at school and then college. They might give up any life outside of college because they want to be the best, and they know how important their exams are.

The same is true if you want a business that is going to make you money. You need to be totally focused on the job and not allow other things to distract you from hitting the mark. You might have to work very long hours to see any profit and there will be many reasons why you might want to quit. You might hit failure many times, and suddenly you think it isn't worth the effort anymore. But it is darkest before the dawn, and you don't know when the end of the tunnel is. You don't know if your dreams will ever become a reality, but unless you are motivated and stay focus on the task you will never have the answers to your questions.

The real question is how do you stay motivated when you are in this situation?

What happens when your support system is all for you quitting as well? Some people have a support system which tells them how much a failure they are, and how their dreams will never be fulfilled. They don't want to know that you are trying to make a better future for them; they want you to spend time doing the jobs they want to have done. They want your time and energy not some project that they can't see the end result of. You might see your business time as progress towards your dream, but for the rest of your family they see nothing. No money is generated, and in many cases only money being spent.

But are they being fair when it is your dreams that are being questioned about? Would you be making any money if you were not online? Or would you still be spending money if you took the family out for the day or in the evening? But maybe you are the one who is spending all the money and your family watch as you spiral into debt as you try and live your dream?

In these circumstances how can you stay motivated to keep on trying to get that break through? Well, the easy answer is to quit, and then to spend the rest of your life as a failure, even if it is only in your thinking. You can quit and never see a single dollar being made.

When you are in this situation, it is difficult to do anything; it is difficult for you to concentrate.
