Your Thoughts Can Change Your Life

How much do you think your thoughts influence what happens in your life? You’ve read that question and now you are thinking about it in a conscious way. As a consequence of that you are forming an opinion on it. That’s how powerful thoughts can be!

Most people aren’t fully aware that their thoughts bear such a strong influence on their daily lives. But once you start to think about it, you will see that it’s true.

Let’s look at a simple example to prove this point. Let’s say the garbage truck is coming round tomorrow morning to collect the rubbish in the neighborhood. If you think ‘I must go and put my garbage out ready to collect’ this will ensure it gets collected. If on the other hand you think you can’t be bothered to do that, you’ll be living with lots of garbage around you until the next collection comes along.

Put simply, the nature of your thoughts will affect your external surroundings. We’ve looked at an example involving garbage but we can apply the same principles to lots of other situations in life as well.

Are you starting to see how important it is to have control over your thoughts?

Ensuring your thoughts are positive ones

You can probably see quite clearly now that your thoughts do indeed influence your surroundings. You are probably looking round right now and seeing more evidence of this. You might think you’ll tidy the house later, so you’re living in an untidy one right now!

Luckily we do have full control over our thoughts. It can take time to get used to thinking positively all the time. But when you do you will start to notice it becomes a habit – and it brings about lots of great events in your life as well. Better things will start to happen more regularly. You might even start to feel ‘lucky’. Although of course we already know that positive thinking is responsible for that.

The first thing you have to do to change your life for the better is to become aware of your thoughts. Get into the habit of doing this as soon as you wake up. If you let yourself think negatively from the get go, you will often find you’re thinking like that for the rest of the day.

So start as you mean to go on. Focus on positive thoughts and monitor yourself throughout the day. If you feel a negative thought coming on, block it and turn it around. As time goes on you will find it gets easier and easier to think positively without even realizing you are doing it.

You should also become more tuned in to what is happening in your life. Gradually you will start to notice changes in your life – changes for the better. They may not happen overnight but if you continue to think positive thoughts they will happen.
